I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread for ba71, a loyal Brewers fan for over 50 years. Would love to hear of some of the memories and highlights over the years of supporting the club. I am sure other Brewers on here would be fascinated and be able to reminisce with some of the great moments over the last 50 years ! So please indulge us ba71, who is your favourite Albion player from non-league days by the way ?

I can vouch for BA. He used to support Coventry. His real name is Craig. There's a lovely article all about him in Coventry Telegraph before he saw the light and started supporting Brewers. Here's a link below with a great photo. And I've copied some of the best bits as well: When you realise what he has been through then it's only right we make allowances for him on here. "The superfan lives with his wife, Christine, and their two cats in Sandwick Close, Binley. He gets to every Coventry City game he can when not working as a checkout supervisor at Batley’s cash and carry at Walsgrave Triangle. After the shock of relegation, Craig took his wife with him on a short holiday to Blackpool to get over it. He said: “I needed to get away to get over it. “After how it’s been with City recently I just needed a break. That’s my football club and I’ve seen them relegated twice now. “I just worry about the club and what’s going to happen to us." Here's a link and a photo so you can look out for him at our next home match www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/crying-coventry-city-fan-revealed-3024230(be aware since the double relegation he became transgender and so sometimes wears a yellow and black dress to our matches now and goes by the name of Beverley)

I reckon his favourite Burton players from the non-league days will be Bobby (Ronald) McDonald, Adam (Watcha talkin' 'bout) Willis and Andy (little midget) Ducros.
They all went on to better things with the Brewers having started out on one of the lower rungs of the football ladder.

Just wondering ba71 what your thoughts were on the old floodlights at our old ground(not the refurbished ones), and the greyhound track which earned good money with the regular whippet races. Did you ever go to them ? they were a great evening out !

Very honoured to have a thread in my name on here guys ha ha ha.
I have some very fond memories indeed and can remember vividly all that's already been shared so far. Oh how I used to love the old Burton grounds before the Pirelli. Such history and character. I can recall sipping my apple juice on the terraces as if it were yesterday ha ha ha.
Oh yes I loved all the floodlights and indeed the racing track. When I was feeling particularly daring I'd have a little £1 each way dabble on the dogs on a Friday night. Great times over the years watching the mighty brewer army!

Brilliant ba, you must have really enjoyed a dabble on the dogs at the racing track! Where was the track exactly ? We have never ever been remotely involved or owned one at any stadium we have played at !

He's got himself all mixed up again
Coventry looked at trying to use the greyhound stadium at Brandon in Coventry for their home matches in Feb 2014 but couldn't afford it sadly
He must be thinking of that
(I'm not joking either)

Wow ba71 ruffled a few feathers, definition of a fan,not how many years you have supported the club. Not how many games you watch, each to their own,and their circumstances,Burton from a few hundred,to 3.500 and Derby from 12,000 to 30,000, ,this is how clubs grow, and like new players to a club, should be welcomed. IV followed Burton since young,Nigel took over,as a club i took a interest in,and through the years, attended games, when derby were away, and i could not get. When Clough came back to Burton i welcomed it,but could not believe it,The club is getting a lot of media attention ,for the right reasons,And interest in the club is growing,If ba71 finds a desire to follow a family club like Burton,i'm sure many more will follow

Having to take those sky high rugby posts down every other week. These poor souls need a little cheer & perhaps the people at ccfc should hold a manager of the month competition , keep smiling super sky blues
