Not remotely. He may be one day. If you judge a manager by results and promotions then he is clearly up there. He's a lot to do to beat Cloughie.

Great in what he's done in the short period of time he's been at the club. Not great at maybe leaving us with a the job unfinished, if the grass is greener elsewhere then good luck to him. If he stays then he will go up in my estimation of what makes a great manager, currently that's held by Mr Clough.

Still Clough for me. If Jimmy was to stay and take us to promotion again this season and then keep us up the following season then yes i would say he is but the chances of that happening are very slim i think

I dont agree with people who are suggesting that jfh is a lesser manager than clough or rowett if he leaves us now. Both of them left us before they had fully completed the job. But dont worry, we went on to got promotion in both of the seasons that we lost our manager! We all know that the club can rely on Ben to make the right choice of replacement. Perhaps neil warnock might take temporary charge to see us through to promotion?

Whilst Jimmy's year and a bit has been nothing short of fantastic, you can't ignore that Nigel Clough put heart and soul into our then tiny little average non-league club for 10 years.
In that time he took us from Southern League obscurity to the football league and over and above that, started the community infra-structure that has grown to make us a very significant part of the Burtonian Community.
Without that ten year stint, neither Gary Rowett or JFH would have had the opportunity to shine as brightly as they have done, as I believe getting a team into the football league, is much harder than keeping it there?
I dearly hope Jimmy will stay but with the lure of a much more lucrative job close to his family home, I very much doubt it and unfortunately we will probably have to wish him the very best and thank him dearly for what he has done here.

Probably the only way you could emulate what Cloughie achieved is for somebody to take us from where we are to the Prem, bigger stadium, bigger crowds and so on. Good luck to JFH if he goes but plenty more fish in the sea as they say.

NC says he's ready for another crack at managing, wonder if Ben still has him on speed dial?

NC says he's ready for another crack at managing, wonder if Ben still has him on speed dial? He's been at the last 2 home games, if Jimmy goes I will be very surprised if he is not on Ben's shortlist ! Maybe he will get a chance to move forward the work he originally started.

I'm sure it's Cloughies if he wants it. I believe he is still a good friend to Ben.

Ask me at the end of the season Now things have developed I'll cast my vote... The football has been super but one year doesn't put him very high in the rankings I'm sorry to say

Clough for me. Jimmy has done a fantastic job there is no argument there, but to a certain extent he was able to hit the ground running he inherited a strong well motivated squad that were in a good position in the league. The job he has done to further strengthen and keep going forward has been spectacular. But for me the real graft and planning with strong foundations being laid down was done under Clough with him lifting the club up from a nothing club that no one had heard of, to a club that was now getting noticed by the media and thus enabling us to move in a forward direction. This though was only made possible as he had a strong chairman and was given time.

I agree Johnno, during Nigel's 10 years he could have traded on his fathers name and jumped ship to the highest bidder, but he never did. If we now have to search for a new manager NC ticks all the boxes; knows the club, the town and the board, he's managed in L1, he's available, lives locally and the club won't be hounded by the press speculating on his next move...well at least until his stock is rebuilt.

Like all of you I have the highest regard for NC. Without his stint, we would not be where are. JFH though has won more matches in the last year, than any other league club in all 4 divisions. That record I would suggest will never be bettered by a small budget club like ours.

I'm not a fan of people "going back" but that is an awfully compelling argument for his return. Seems taylor made really.
