Great lad. Great player. One of Albion's all time legends. Part of the club's history and rise to the Football League. Pleased for him. Hope we see him at the ground some time soon.

I agree and I do too. The blog is a fascinating read, far too much to do in a few minutes but what a great experience. Underrated as a player IMHO, to come from Nuneaton as a striker to be comfortable Leaggue Two full back is some journey, not quite as far as the one he has just done, but some journey.

This has to be a book...
Just reading a bit more of the blog, I have only dipped into it occasionally but read this bit just now, they were explaining a Patagonian sandstorm and it sounded really grim, and then they had a tailwind...
"Firstly we had a tailwind, so strong that Rob and I wanted to do an experiment – The road was pan flat and perfectly straight, so we set up a drag race and from a standing start with not taking even one pedal stroke we reached 38.9 mph and did 10 miles in less than 20 minutes, not only a TT record for us but one a pro cyclist would be proud of, (to compare, it took us 2 and a half hours to do that distance the previous day)." Now that would have been exciting beyond belief, but not if you have to put up with the sandstorms that preceded/followed.

A fantastically honest player who was almost ever present in the first team and what a great thing to do after his footballing career.
It would make great viewing for a one-off documentary if they have any video footage?
