SHEFFIELD United have bolstered their frontline ahead of the new League One campaign with the arrival of Derby County's Conor Sammon and Billy Sharp from Leeds United.
Rams striker Sammon will arrive at Bramall Lane on a season-long loan from the Championship club, while 29-year-old Sharp (pictured) begins his third stint with the Blades after signing a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Phil Parkinson has confirmed Bradford City's interest in central defender Nathan Clarke after the 31-year-old cancelled his contract at League Two side Leyton Orient to move closer to his family.
The Bantams boss admitted that the club have been in touch with the free agent as they look to add solidity to their defence.
"Centre-back is an area that we need to strengthen up but we are looking at other areas too."
Swindon Town are considering the acquisition of midfielder Fabien Robert from French club Lorient after a successful trial spell at the County Ground.
The 26-year-old – whose brother Laurent became well known for his stunning long-range strikes for Newcastle United – has previous experience of English football, having made 13 appearances for Doncaster Rovers during a loan spell in 2012.
Oldham Athletic manager Darren Kelly has insisted that Jonathan Forte can have a big say on the Latics' season after seeing a potential move to Barnsley fall through.
The 29-year-old forward did not feature in his side's friendly with Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, but Kelly is upbeat about Forte's future at the club.
"He has been working hard in training, so come August 8 at Walsall, I expect Jonathan to be in the squad," Kelly told the Oldham Evening Chronicle.
"He's a big part of what we are trying to do."
