There are 9 ex Premier league clubs in league 1 this season, can you name them all ? Certainly makes you realise how we have risen up the football ladder !

Just to be clear - are we saying Premier League only or Premier League/old First Division?

Premier league only, I believe there a 9 clubs in league 1 this season who have previously played in the Premier league. I will eat humble pie if I am wrong.

Bloody Millwall causing trouble already.
Other side of the coin. Nine of this season's Premier League clubs have competed in the 3rd tier of English football in the same time period as what TM is talking about (1992-present day)
Wasn't that long ago Man City were in League 1...

I had counted Millwall but as Newark Colin points out and on double checking they did miss out by 3 years. So it is only 8. Humble pie eaten by me. Still a good exercise though to get the grey matter moving ! It does show what incredible progress we have made and in my humble opinion we will not be going backwards this season.

The answer is the 8 clubs previously mentioned, plus Portsmouth. Hope this helps.

Just a bit of fun, glad to see plenty of football knowledge amongst the Brewers ranks.
