Disappointed I can't be there this afternoon but I'm sure Rowett, the rest of the coaching staff, Maghoma and Legzdins will all get the welcome back they deserve. Did the boys get the welcome they deserved? A "Rowett's still a Brewer" at the end perchance.

Who needs a striker when our defenders score when they want...?
............Mathews Phil, Moose, O'Connor, Damo .........Robbie, Naylor Lucas, Duffy, Nasser .............Beavs......
Timmy, Reilly, Zeli for Beavs, Robbie, Nasser Maynard for Duffy Matty for Lucas Andrade for Phil (Maynard to RB, Matty into CM, Andrade on RW)
O'Connor and Naylor were equally MOTM for me, we were the better side all day. 3300 attendance, over 2k were Blues
Oh, and Popside speakers still not working properly! FFS, sort it out!

A very good performance from the lads and the strength in depth that we have is really impressive. Never did we look a league below Birmingham City. Great to see Zeli too and spoke to him after the game.

Ok they are friendlies but in the last 2 games I have been very happy with the players we have and the cohesiveness of the squad so far. We will be fine in L1...! COYB!!!

Popside speakers were fine last week as they were checked during the game.
I suggest rather than bleating about it on social media you contact the club so you can tell them exactly which part of the popside wasn't working properly.

I stood in the north stand today. The speakers were fine. The only time you couldn't here was when the noise being made in the stand drowned them out. Last week the speakers worked before the kick off, but did not work in the half time interval, but came back on when the subs were announced at around 60 minutes. After last weeks game I emailed the problems to the club. It sounds like there is an intermittent fault, and I hope this is being sorted, or has been sorted. I agree that there is no point moaning on the forum.

I thought you are part of the club, some of your posts seem to imply that you are rubbing shoulders in the boardroom? They were intermittent last week but not as bad as usual. This week they were as bad or worse than ever (we did have some heavy rain this past week) but I can only speak for the same speakers that I have mentioned over the past 18 months or so, Popside centreline speakers.... Anyway you should be relaxing. Ps...the announcer today was quite funny, and played some good tunes. But he forgot the C'mon U Brewers before kickoff....so 8/10 for today.

Polite applause for all 3 before the kick off Rowett 'announced' before coming out on the pitch and polite applause for Maghoma as he was substituted

I am relaxing Herb.
My point is, and Andy Taylor said that at the fan engagement workshop.
If you have a problem with something, contact the club do they can do something about it, don't complain Nd moan on social media.
If I was around the club this week I would mention it, but I'm not. As you are experiencing the problem you are best placed to tell them exactly where and what is happening.
By the way the mic and the music are done by two different people. I suggested to Keith getting an updated CD this week for the start of the season. Dave is very good on the PA. then again he has run discos most of his life so should be by now. He used to do the PA two people before me.

But I know for a fact that club employees read this forum and FB posts, so I don't see what the issue is with posting on here??? Maybe you could explain... 1. we know the notes are being read on social media, so the message is getting through. 2. We are passing on real info to other fans (they may decide to stand or sit somewhere else). But this has been an on going problem for at least 18 months, maybe longer, and it's not just the Popside the north stand fans say the same things. Many people on here and on FB have mentioned this problem many times and also emailed the club, reported it at fan engagement workshops etc. and so far it hasn't been resolved. So what does 'don't put it on social media' mean? Sounds like trying to cover the problem up.i have sat in the seats and the nice big black speakers there work fine. Mikeyboy is right, there was polite applause for Gaz before the match and Mags when he was subbed. Other than the goals we were a very polite, church service type crowd today. The Blues were loud early on but it didn't last long. Not complaining, stating the facts as I saw them.

To be fair, after 18 months of mentioning it, either officially or not, you would expect it to be sorted by now.
My suspicion is that it trips out when the mic man gets too loud. That said, by now it should have been sorted. If it was tested last week then, it didn't last long.
Anyways, missed the game as was sorting a beer festival out for a local social club... Coming soon... Dare not mention where... :-)

PA equipment is pretty amazing these days. It's difficult to get it wrong. But there is a lot of bull shit talked about it too. The problem on the Pop Side is Intermittent. This means that sometimes when you check it, it appears to work fine but at other times it disappears. It also distorts. Cheap crap equipment or not enough headroom on the amps or speaker cones damaged (or most likely I think) the wiring has deteriorated due to weather, damp etc and needs a full replacement which is costly and time consuming. If I was doing it and had a bit if a budget I would strip out, re-wire with top quality outdoor low impedance speaker cable, install decent (not premium but not cheap and nasty either, Mackie for me) speakers, decent microphones SHURE SM58 industry standard as a starting point and have amps that only need to be just ticking over at a third of their maximum output to get enough volume to be heard over an average crowd noise. With the size of the ground and 3000 + folks inside, you need at least a 5kw rig I would say. That's off the top of my head,

You say I'm bleating about it yet an hour before my post you were not accusing Robert, Andrew or Liam of bleating on FB??? Ian Hawkins Thanks Bloor. did you play up to date music today by any chance? Sounds like you coped like I coped without you last week! 6 hrs · Edited · Like · 3 Robert Speakers on the blink pop side again folks 6 hrs · Like · 2 Tim Not by Lisa Martin you weren't Ian!!!! wink emoticon 6 hrs · Like · 1 Andrew Home end speaker was cutting out again. 6 hrs · Like Ian Hawkins I know Tim. I'll be having words! which part of the popside Robert? It was all checked at last weekends game. 6 hrs · Like · 2 Liam I stand underneath the 'G' entrance sign on Popside, and the speakers were fine until just before kick off, when they then started to go on the blink. They weren't constantly off, just kept cutting out. 5 hrs · Like · 2 Robert Bang on half way line Ian I saw Keith coming round before the game and they were working. It seems to be when they are at a constant mid volume they are ok if you go over that volume they just can't hack it and cut out. That's what it seems like anyway 5 hrs · Like · 1 Steve Well done today Dave - you were spot on. 4 hrs · Like

You sound like you know what you are talking about - out of interest - how much roughly would what you describe cost the club E7#9?
