I agree, a great signing. "O'Connor is capable of playing across the back four and in a holding midfield role and Brewers boss Hasselbaink is pleased to bring in a player capable of holding down so many positions. "He's going to be used in several places," said Hasselbaink. "Anthony is a utility player but his best place is centre-half. "That's where he wants to play but he can also play in defensive midfield and Anthony will be a very handy signing for us." Ooooh, there can't have been much sunshine down there in Devon as those grapes seem to be very sour!

Wow there are a fair few Plymouth fans on that forum with delusions of grandeur!
Fair enough of they don't think Burton are a big club. But what have Plymouth Argyle ever done to consider themselves a big club?
Lol
Without checking I'm pretty sure they've been badly run financially for some time as well - could be wrong
I'm really tempted to sign up to that forum to see if they want to be our feeder club for next few years

They are certainly upset. The worst comment on their site says "If he would rather play for a mini lifeless club (not meant nastily") . Then so be it. The smiley is mine.

Not one of them seems to realise he played a whole season on loan for us before he arrived at Argyle !

They need to pipe down. They should count themselves lucky they're not on life support in non league and savour every second of being league two "also rans"
Not meant nastily, by the way...

Virtually every new player signed has said Jimmy was the biggest draw in their decision to sign. O'CONNOR IS HOPING TO BE A 'BIG PART OF IT' Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been one of the main reasons most players have been attracted to the club since his arrival at the Pirelli Stadium and it was no different for the new man O’Connor. “He is massive in the game. “All you have to do is look at his playing career. “He has played for some massive clubs and with his first job in England he got the club promoted. “The club is going places and you can definitely see that. “I am just hoping I can come here now and be a big part of it.” DEFENDER Anthony O'Connor hopes to learn from Burton Albion captain John Mousinho. The pair could start Albion's first ever game in League One at centre-half together on August 8. BURTON Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has challenged centre-back Anthony O'Connor to maintain his consistency. The 22-year-old made his first League start for the Brewers in the 2-1 win over Chesterfield last Saturday after Shane Cansdell-Sherriff missed out through illness. O'Connor did well to nullify the threat of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake up front and kept his spot alongside captain John Mousinho in the 0-0 draw against Sheffield United. The Brewers managed to keep the strike partnership of Conor Sammon and Billy Sharp quiet over the 90 minutes – dealing superbly with the physical threat of Sammon and nullifying the impact Sharp can have in pockets of space. Shane hit a bump in a couple of games early on but he has been excellent since the Middlesborough game, unfortunately for him he picked up a bug? and Ant was called upon. He has done really well in both games, Spirites and Blades, with a number of people calling him as MOTM in both.
