looks like they are taking it seriously...
The Championship side will bring their full first-team squad and The match could also provide a return to the Pirelli Stadium for defender Regan Upton.
The Burton-born 18-year-old signed for Wolves from Albion's youth team in 2012 for an undisclosed fee.

That fee for Upton was significant for a youth player I heard that Ben was surprised by how much the offer to buy him was and found it hard to turn down whilst also being warned that he could be worth millions in the future I don't know if we have any sell on clause. I don't think we do because it wasn't mentioned and we got a good fee for a youth team player that wolves still had to develop He's just won their Academy player of the year award One to keep an eye out for

Today's match was fairly good for a friendly and a good runout for the boys. Lucas hit the post in the 2nd minute after their keeper bottled a save. Butcher's weak back pass in our half went straight to their midfielder/striker who passed it to 17yo Bright Enobakhare who brightly buried it. Both teams had a few moments and scoring chances but I'd say we more than held our own. Thought Robbie MOTM for us. Poor turnout I thought, for the first home friendly since the 2 parties, at Cambridge and then the Pirelli, I expected a decent crowd. If there were 1000 as suggested ???of us then there were 1700 of them. I fear we might see that a few times this season. Not bad game though, there were a few bright moments, a goal post and a goal called back for offside.
............McLaughlin, Phil, Moose, Maynard (O'Connor), Damo (Taft) .........Robbie, Butcher (Naylor) Lucas (Austin), Duffy (Harness), Matty .............Beavs......

Dicko scored the goal peacock. enobakhare was the second half sub (number 17) who lived up to his name (Bright) with a lively performance

A good pre-season friendly I thought. The result is of no importance. We saw some promising football during the game. Butcher played well except for his one major error. I thought Robbie Weir today was fantastic. To me this squad is looking very good at the moment. Regarding attendance. A lot of people think £10 is expensive for a friendly, although to Wolves fans it obviously looks quite cheap. I went and paid of course, and accept that the club needs to raise money continually. At the same time in comparison. Fleetwood are hosting Burnley, and for that match season ticket holders get free admission

Yes an enjoyable game and a good workout. I thought we played very well particularly early on and we bossed the 2nd half too. Shame about the goal and Butcher's mishap - also unfortunate that it fell to Dicko. For me Duffy caught the eye of the new contingent, I wasn't as impressed by Butcher. It was lovely to see O'Connor back and he looked composed as a central defender. I also felt young Sam Austin looked impressive as a substitute. A creditable performance I felt with nothing like our strongest side out.

I'm on hols or else would have gone to this and other pre-season friendlies
If we have fans who think 10 pounds is too much for a friendly then they must still be in non league football mode surely?
As you say to Wolves fans they will consider 10 pounds incredibly cheap to watch their team play League opposition albeit in a friendly
When the pre-season friendlies were announced each one looks capable of attracting plenty of away fans and I believe with our tight budgets they are an important income earner for us
There is well over 100k in income achievable from the friendlies and let's not forget about 85k to 100k is our profit we show for a season
I realise 100k income from friendlies isn't all profit but it all helps
I agree it's a disappointing crowd but lots must be on holiday and we don't start with many before holidays!

I totally agree with you Observer - fantastic value to see football of this sort of standard for £10 or so. Wake up the public of Burton and District.

Thanks for the match reviews lads, had a prior engagement supporting "her indoors" today and will be away next weekend but will make the Leicester and sheep games. Method in the madness, get these things out of the way to pave a clear path in the season so I don't miss any league games !

I was not surprised by the low turn-out from Albion fans ,the vast majority of people are not interested in pre-season friendlies whether it costs £10 or £1.00 they will not come , unless it's probably Man United or Chelsea .
I stand with a group of nine friends , I was the only one there today out of our group .The reason they don't come is down to the fact is teams use it as a training session , and don't see the point in wasting their time .
Personally I like pre-season games , as it's good to get to know the new players .

I suppose it's all relative
1000 home fans is still probably close to half of our own home fanbase
So a club that averaged say 25,000 fans with 2000 away fans would have 23,000 home fanbase
And expect about 11,500 of their own fans at a friendly pro rata
Sorry that all sounds complicated
But basically we are probably getting just less than half our home fan base to a friendly
Probably par for the course for most clubs
Derby and villa and Leicester to come isn't it?
They should be bigger draws for our home fans and bring more away fans as well
