I missed it, asked for a pint and out of luck, changed to Speckled Hen. Next time maybe. I got the last pint, apologies! I did sample the Speckled Hen afterwards, nice beverage too but the Old Cottage was really top drawer.

The Old Cottage was the best pint I've had in years and I mean that literally. Quality, great work. Sorry it ran out the Speckled Hen was fine too. The Old Cottage is on fire again now, we have a pin of Halcyon Daze to come...

Old Cottage website has been down all week unfortunately, not sure if it's a longstanding issue.

Is Sea Fury basically Doombar?! Gosh no!!!! Doom Bar is now brewed by Coors - we are ordering one (out of respect to those that swear by it), albeit, personally I would generally only use it to clean the pipes. Sea Fury is Atlantic brewery (I know, also Coors) but full of body and full strength, a prince of ales. Cloughy's Clout was on exceptional form last time, it is resting on the stillage, so I hope it is ready for Saturday. The Old Cottage brewery and Old Cottage pub are not the same. The brewery has just gone through a takeover, the pub is much the same and takes Old Cottage beers (as Jayney mentioned [twice]) I reckon both have a great future. The brewery will ho from strength to strength, the pub is also a great pre and post game place to go (although these days I prefer the club. I'm just pleased more pubs are getting on here and offering what they do!

Good stuff, I genuinely didn't know the answer but at the same time genuinely knew it would be red rag to a bull to mention Doombar!

Back at home for what seems the first time in ages... Jo's cobs are back and we have two great guest ales tomorrow... An old favourite - Timothy Taylor's Landlord - a superb ale even if, at 4.2%, it is not the strongest (It would feature more regularly but it costs us a fortune to get it in!) And a newbie - From the Golden Duck Brewery at Appleby Magna - Lunny's No.8 - Now it may be named after an egg chaser but I've tasted this and it is superb - the blurb from the brewers describe it as "a golden beer with strop hoppy overtones" I would just say it is cock on! 4.8% abv (albeit it seemed to have a stronger effect on me last night!) The Pedi is also spot on at the moment - All ales at £2.80 a pint which is great value. All Brewers fans welcome. We also sell lager and cider For those not going to Old Trafford, we have some great offers for Wednesday night too, I'll be updating nearer the time.

For those that are not making the trip to Old Trafford, there is a great place to watch the game this Wednesday...
Stretton Social Club has the game live on all screens, in both rooms!
Plus Carling at £2.50 a pint, a guest ale (probably Cloughy's Clout) at £2.50 a pint and Carling Cider at £2.50 a pint.
Oh and to top the lot, pie and peas also at £2.50.
YOUR village club, doing what village clubs do best.

At the moment we have Butty Bach and Oak Ale and of course the Pedi is in fine form too. Unfortunately the way that you lot keep troughing them down though we may not have a replacement if they go... Got some belters for Saturday, but we are tight as to whether we can get them on in time...

The selection for tomorrow is Adnams Broadside (4.7%) and Wadworth 6 X (4.1%) and of course the Pedi, all very splendid.
Jo will also be supplying the cobs and the footy will be on the TVs both before and after the game.

Have a good day, not there myself. Sampling the Orkney Gold here last night (Highlands) went down very well.
