I can update on the ale front...
We currently have Pedigree 4.5 %, Abbot Ale 5.0 % and Old Cottage Redwood 4.7%. All very palatable...
I expect the Abbot to sell out, but what a back up... Next in line is Sharps Sea Fury 5.0% abv.
I had just been having a discussion with the Coors rep and b*****ing him about the atrocious state of their cask ales. He offered me Doom bar and we had a conversation that went along the lines of me suggesting we would only use Doom bar to clean the pipes with. Out of the blue he dropped in the fact they were now doing Sharps Sea Fury. Boom, strong, dark, chunky and lasts all the way down the glass.
Anyway, all ales just £2.80, we also sell some of the lager stuff as well.
Sausage and bacon cobs available tomorrow. Donations to St Giles Hospice for those and we are providing free tea and coffee.
Open from 10am. As ever, home fans only I am afraid.
After the game, we will of course have all the live Premier League football on the tellyboxes, and Jo's cobs will be back for a final outing this season.

And we are open and looking forward to a brilliant day.
Thank you to all the CTMD regulars that have met up in Stretton Social Club this season. We will be ready for you again in July/August.
Have a good summer.

We made it today, many thanks for your hospitality. Although I didn't indulge myself the bacon butties went down well with our lot, we'll be back.

And the good news is St Giles Hospice are £111 better off from the proceeds of the bacon and sausage butties this morning. Now time to chill, sit down and get ready for pre season

We are back and YOUR village social club is really looking forward to the new season. No price increase from us in the close season and we hope to have a couple of new signings. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday - will have details of the guest ales and the new lines later in the week...

Can't wait to be sampling another great selection of proper ales over the next eight months or so.
Does the Club subscribe to Sky or BT for it's football coverage?

Yes we have both Sky and BT - we are also able to show both at the same time and on different screens. It is technology that beats me, but it seems to work. Sunderland v Derby, for those who are interested is on in both rooms and on the new huge screens in the lounge. Some good ales coming up and prices as ever, are very reasonable.

So we are just about ready to go.
Our new signing Carling Premier (4.7%) makes its debut this weekend and at the bargain opening price of £2.40 a pint!
We could not leave out the real ale drinkers so as a special welcome 'home' to all the Brewers fans, we are also having a Cloughy's Clout (Old Cottage Brewery) on, also at just £2.40 a pint.
Alongside that we have Proper Job guesting (£2.80) and all the usual stuff, at simply marvellous prices.
Jo has been re-signed for the season and her delicious cobs will once again be available.
Unfortunately Somersby Rhubarb and Strawberry Cider failed its fitness test, but will hopefully be available for selection soon.
As always, we are Brewers fans only I am afraid.
Here's to another great season!!!
P.S. We are holding a snap collection this weekend to raise money to replace the nets damaged by vandals at Stretton Eagles F.C. 100% will go to the club.

Breaking News...
Somersby Strawberry and Rhubarb Cider has been reassessed and makes the team for tomorrow - so why not charge £2.40 for that this weekend too? Okay then...

I missed it, asked for a pint and out of luck, changed to Speckled Hen. Next time maybe.

Sorry it ran out the Speckled Hen was fine too. The Old Cottage is on fire again now, we have a pin of Halcyon Daze to come...
