I am going for 19th (or 20th?) and a year of uncomfortable consolidation grating but not too horrific please.
I have just had this Facebook message from a 'friend'... Scenario: December 19th 2015. Burton Albion are flying high in the League for the visit of Doncaster bur lose heavily. This triggers such a decline in confidence that by May 8th. 2016 when they visit Doncaster they need the points to avoid relegation. They don't get them. Bye Bye Burton.
My reply... Possibly...you know me, I am a less than half glass full sort of gal. After all the first year in the league was hell. We played teams that we had until that moment dreamed about playing against. We were given no hope but scrapped and scraped through. Even a few years we are in many ways considered the unfashionable also-rans for instance press coverage of the final positions concentrated on the return of Shrewsbury and Bury to the League and Oh yes Burton had happened to win it. If you go on the football League web site the pictorial depiction of the make up of the league shows puts Burton at the very end.I may be a tad oversensitive but this happens again and again. It is perhaps only because of JFH that we are of interest to press. When we are drawn in the Capital One Cup against Wigan their fans' site described the tie as, "seemingly disappointing' if I remember it correctly. So roll on next year we will endure the year without the burden of expectancy from everyone except our fans. P.S. We will stuff you..

I feel very positive about our chances and have gone in at 5th place
We have momentum and it's a happy club with players who want to earn more money and progress
So why not?

A very respectable 10th would do Swaddy very nicely, any better would be dreamland, any worse is not a problem as long as its not in the relegation places.

Gone for eighth but hoping I've not been over optimistic?
There are some big clubs in this division and regardless of whether this is judged on former glories or just last season's form, we'll find it hard to compete financially for the first season or two.
I believe if we can stay in the division for a second season, we will definitely consolidate and move onward and upwards, as more teams fall foul of the FFP regulations, whilst well run Burton Albion continue to balance the books with sensible control over wages and transfer fees.
We had a good side in League 2 and with some astute signings already, we have only improved on that quality and probably a couple more should see us quite competitive at the next level.
I'm excited already at the prospect and can't wait until August 8th.

I've gone for 16th as when you look at the fixture list it is tough. I hope we bring in an out and out goal scorer as I think that will relieve some of the pressure, although I think Nasser could make a real impression with a full pre season behind him.

We've just won League Two by a good margin. We've got momentum and we are a happy club bringing in hungry players who are rated by the fans of the clubs they are leaving behind. JFH is managing us and extremely ambitious.
I actually think the season coming although it will of course be a big challenge will actually represent the best chance of us competing for playoffs and/or promotion as any in the next few years.
I understand fans on here settling for consolidation but actually the best way to consolidate at worst would be to be going all out for promotion and if we fail then we should still be more than secure in this League.
Good chance to challenge I think
