Here a good story on the state of the art physio setup that is available at St. Georges Park. To help get a player from a broken leg to full fitness in 12 weeks is remarkable. "He was able to utilise Perform's leading technologies including the anti-gravity treadmill, altitude chamber and hydrotherapy suite." Loy said: "If you can't put your full weight on your leg, they work you in other ways at St George's Park. "They have the AlterG running machine which allowed me to run only using around 60-70 per cent of my body weight. "I wasn't able to run fully until two or three weeks ago, so by doing that I was able to run and get the lungs going." I'm still waiting for my letter of appointment regarding my right cartilage from Burton Hospital from 40 years ago ! St Georges park seems to be a bit in advance of that ! Seriously though what a fantastic facility we have available to us.

With the help and treatment from England and Perform St George's Park physiotherapist Donna Gormley, Karen Carney has been able to regain fitness in time for a crucial part of the Womens' World Cup tournament. Gormley is a senior physiotherapist at the National Football Centre in Burton as well as providing her services to the England Women's squad. To show thanks for her return to fitness Carney tweeted, 'Special shout out to @donnaperformsgp my personal physio and to the medical team, also to everyone at @performsgp'.
