There is an interesting article on the club website regarding the mileage to and from away grounds next season www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/article/how-far-will-you-travel-to-support-the-brewers-2470405.aspx That's 4,153 miles in total which I would think is the lowest total since we were in the Unibond league ! 9 away games are around an hours driving time or less from Burton and a further 10 are roughly within an hour and a half, leaving only 4 long treks to the south east. Given that we are in a higher league along with theses shorter journey's I would hope or expect our traveling support to increase this season, particularly looking at the decent levels we took in the last few away games last season and if we do reasonably well. What's your feelings/thoughts fellow Brewers on these matters ?

For me, it will depend on what the opposition are charging to get in and what quality of accommodation there is when we get there. I will certainly not be paying £26 or £27 to sit in the open air at Swindon or Gillingham for instance.

Yes that is very annoying, especially when its siling it down, I think both clubs have covered areas on the sides for small away followings but I'm not sure what the criteria for opening them are.

Perhaps you would prefer to be back in the early sixties playing in the Southern League when our away fixtures included SITTINGBOURNE MARGATE RAMSGSTE DEAL FOLKSTONE DOVER HASTINGS ASHFORD TUNBRIDGE WELLS TONBRIDGE At least 10 trips to Kent, unfortunately on my sixpence pocket money I did'nt get to any of them.
That is why I still have to pinch myself to believe how far we have come.

As a downsouth minority this promotion lark is a disaster! You must have been gutted at Southend's penalty shoot out success over Wycombe...the one "home" game left for you!

As a fellow albo living down south, really gutted that wycombe and southend didnt both get promoted crawley and leyton orient relegated Mk dons got promoted and Brighton stayed up.
and if only all those clubs we used to play in the southern league had followed us to the heady heights of league 1
Purely selfish reasons.
You guys have the home games after all, dont get to gready now !!!!

Might make Swindon out of those three but as TM said above at £27 to stand in the open air it would have to be Aug/Sept or April/May to tempt me?

You'll be undercover at Swindon. They put smaller away followings in the end corner of the bigger stand alongside the pitch. Three years ago I paid £25 for a wooden seat and a pillar obstructing my view of us getting absolutely battered by the eventual league winners.
I'll definitely think twice about going back there.
