I doubt JFH has heard much if any moaning
I think that article is just a rallying call to get as many fans supporting the club as poss
I remember thinking at Cambridge if we took this many away every week and had an atmosphere like this I might become a regular away fan
It's how you get the bandwagon going I guess
Needs some clever marketing ideas etc

There's no doubt the whole club wants to see the loyal supporter numbers rise. We regular supporters know this is needed only too well. I think the club are doing a lot try to increase the fan base. In my small circle there is certainly more interest now, but how many of those will become terrace supporters, rather than armchair supporters I don't know. The slightly encouraging signs were in the 5000 odd home fans at our last home game, and the near 2000 who journeyed to Cambridge. I am just hoping our home support will grow some in the coming season.

Much like claymillman I have noticed much more interest from people I know due to us winning the championship of league 1. I think as stated previously that we will get larger crowds next season, partly due to increased numbers of away fans but also home supporters too. It was very encouraging to see so many younger supporters at Cambridge in particular and at Morecambe and Luton. The community trust is working very hard to encourage younger fans. There was almost a stigma attached to being an Albion fan at one time but I do feel those barriers are breaking down and people are starting to see us differently. My eldest lad and his mates(about a dozen) are talking about going to games next season having been to some of the latter games, one fan I know who hadn't been since the Pesch era is definitely returning having had his interest rekindled by the achievements this season plus a Man Utd fan who has started coming with me is up for next season and wants to come to away games too ! All on the positive side that plus a couple of sheep fans who live in Burton(have followed both clubs) who have told me they will be at the Pirelli next season ! Having a high profile and respected player like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at the helm plus winning that title and the extra media exposure is doing wonders for the clubs profile.

I know a bit about Notts County - they have a very old fanbase and they need to attract more young people
You go in the terrace behind the goal at BAFC and although all ages are in there I was struck by how many teenagers are in there
This is very positive for the club as a young fanbase will automatically grow with time
BAFC don't have the benefit of generations passing on the support of the club as yet as they haven't been going long enough with any numbers to do so but the younger the fanbase they have the more it will grow over time providing we stay a happy and well run club

the title of the article is "Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says the Brewers need the fans" I hope the moaners can find it in themselves to appreciate what Jimmy has done and stop yelling shite at Robbie and Gurky and stop booing when we pass the ball back or laterally in order to maintain procession. Jimmys and the teams stats speak for themselves. If your intent when going to games is to play pocket pool and shout abuse at a player when they make a mistake, then best for everyone if you stay home. We can all have our say on public forums but you are helping no one with those antics at the match. You are reading your own slant into it Peacock IMO
There's zero reference to moaning etc in that article - its all about replicating 5000 home fans at Pirelli and 2000 ish away
I don't disagree that moaning fans don't help anyone but that's not who this article is aimed at

Right so observer edited his comment to remove the reference to my "tirade"" tirade - a long, angry speech of criticism or accusation. So, I... - post an article where Jimmy says the players need the fans to support them - make a silly joke about a subliminal message, finished with a happy face - express an opinion where I 'hope' that people will stop abusing certain players and the style of play Jimmy has the team playing, and support the team instead And that is a tirade? Words fail me? Again, as in the latest Joey Suk comment, you two must have a sad life... Or did you just get up on the wrong side of the bed? Or is it the cold and wet weather? Beautiful warm and sunny day in Portugal this morning! LOL, thats for the laff...
