Both Jimmy F H and David Oldfield are in the stand watching Swindon v Sheffield Utd match , the way the match is going (5-3 on agg to Swindon at half-time) it's looking like Nigel and his boy's will be playing us next season .

Yes been watching the game but my transmission has been interrupted unfortunately, saw the lads in the stand. Swindon ripped the Blades apart early on but got a big casual and over played things. Will be very surprised if Nigel isn't visiting the Pirelli next season, unless he gets the sack that is !

Looking at the goals stats from afar it seems like a great game...6-4 Swindon with 10 mins to go

Swindon's 5-5 draw with Sheffield United broke the record for the most goals in a single play-off match. The 13 goals in the semi-final tie is also a new record, surpassing the 12 that were netted in Crewe's 9-3 aggregate win over Walsall in a fourth-tier semi-final in 1993.

Sheff Utd and Chesterfield staying down
Will be great crowds for those
Sheff Utd at home on Boxing Day, New Year or First or last match of the season and we have a potential sellout and the ground gets a beer!

Not sure we would sellout (if the club kept away tickets at the standard allocation) if we couldn't sellout N'ton match where we could have won the league (1192 short). Anyway I don't think Simon would appreciate alcohol being poured on his perfect pitch.

The Blades will almost certainly sell all their allocation and with all due respect to Northampton, Sheffield United and the possible Clough connection if he is still there, is a much more attractive proposition in a league game. I would be very surprised if the game doesn't beat this seasons best attendance. Particularly if we are doing well.

The Sheffield game, I suspect will almost certainly be all ticket, if we are doing alright.

Sheff united averaged 1800 away fans this season. I suspect they would want to bring more to us if we can accommodate.
And if the date of match falls right then we can get 4000 to 5000 of our own fans with a bit of luck as it's an attractive game plus the Nigel connection
6000 plus at this game - first game of season and it could be a sellout I believe

Away allocation is 1800 (I wouldn't give Blades, Spirites etc more) that means we would need 5,112 to be a sellout. I suppose it could happen if the stars aligned and Rams, Forrest, Foxes, Blues and Villans were all playing away from home.
Edit after tm post below: I agree it would certainly be a possibility esp. If we had a huge draw for the home opener or a huge game late in the season.

We have had one sell out at the Pirelli stadium against Oxford in the Conference and we were only one short of capacity against Man Utd in the FA Cup. It certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility that we will have a full capacity next season, certainly if we are doing well.

I think it is unlikely that the Burton public will throw off generations of inherent apathy. Yes it's certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility that we will have a full capacity next season if we are doing well. It's also likely that a run of defeats could see visiting fans almost outnumber ours.

It'll be interesting to see if Nigel & co are still at the Blades next season - most clubs & fans don't seem to have the patience for his way of doing things. A random thought - with Adam Pearson bringing some business sense to Leeds is Jimmy more likely to move and would we want Nigel back?
