Might be a long shot but would love Kevin Stewart back. Also no mention of Nasser!!

Would like Naylor back from those lists
If Cuvelier could get fit he could be a great player as well
I'm not too fussed about the others

Right decision but always sad to see some long standing squad members go. Fond farewell to Ian Sharps, Lee Bell and Jimmy Philips. Good luck in the future.

Add these 3 to the players currently signed for next season (Moose, Shane, Damo, Robbie, Lucas, Matty, Beavs, Knowles(?)) and we will have a solid group who have been together for at least one full season. It looks good for our start in League 1. Moose, Shane, Damo, Robbie, Lucas, Matty, Beavs, Knowles are already signed, and I think Deano is as well. If we managed to sign, McLaughlin, Phil, McGurk, Naylor, Nasser and Maynard we would have a sound group to start us off in L1 And if we're able to get Blyth, Cuvelier, Stewart and Johnstone back on loan (or even sign one or two of them)..... The missing bit is cover at leftback. I don't think I would sign Tafty for that role and I don't think he is a L1 CB. I wouldn't be too surprised to see one or two pay as you play contracts like Maletic and MAC, and also wouldn't be too surprised if that didn't happen. Jimmys friendship with McLaren, Rodgers, and van Gaal could do us some real favours....

He is young and I would think still has potential to improve. Agreed, he is no left back but may develop into a centre back role yet.

I personally think Taft has great potential and will get better each year
I heard Mike Whitlow tell someone at the Academy that he needs to get nastier on the pitch. He's too nice at the moment.
That should come with age and experience hopefully
I think he's a good footballer

I think Nalyor, El Khayati and Maynard are virtually done deals, McLaughlin and Edwards too, therefore the foundation of a strong squad is already there, it will be very interesting to see who else Jimmy looks to bring in.

But his style is more of a CM for me, not strong enough for a CB as observer has referred to and we are fairly strong in CM

A good piece in the Burton mail today by Jimmy. He has offered a deal to Nasser, and expects him to sign. He also says he will do better next year in League 1, and benefit from a full pre-season training regime.

Yes, here it is! Things are looking bright, where are my shades? JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink thinks Nasser El Khayati can make an even bigger splash at Burton Albion next season. The 26-year-old wildcard forward made 18 appearances for the Brewers this season – nine of them starts – scoring three goals as Burton closed on the League Two title. He has been offered a deal for next season and Hasselbaink is confident his fellow Dutchman can make an even bigger splash in 2015-16. "That's the idea," said the manager, who has also offered new deals to goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin, defenders Phil Edwards and Kelvin Maynard, midfielder Tom Naylor and striker Adam McGurk. I'm worried now because we may have posters on here already read this thread who won't know Mclaughlin has signed a new contract
It's bugging me - maybe I should personal message the ones who haven't posted in here since the news?
Lol

I did wonder myself - an exceptional central defender or right back and brilliant influence in the dressing room, who knows League 1.

Three years recovering from a horrendous injury
This could certainly only be a pay per play deal
I think injury record and core fitness of players is more vital for a small club like ours on a budget than anything else when we assess players
Every penny we spend on wages needs to count IMO
