Phillips and Akin are still out, but Sharps and Taft make the bench. Really want to see Billy and Akin back on the pitch. When they both come good JFH will have a real problem sorting out the starters.

Identical starting 11 and bench as last Sat., no surprise there. Todays newspaper article said Akins should be ready for Boxing Day.
17mins in, Bentley just called Moose the "League 2 Beckenbauer"...

It will be interesting (again) to see what Barry 'The One That Got Away' Corr plays like against us!

Happy with a 'good point' but listening on the radio is painful- so would be a three hour drive back I suppose.
The picks of the games on Satuday are probably Luton v Newport Accrington V Wycombe Shrewsbury V Morecambe

An apology to "Matron" for not responding. Had an emergency arise at about the 20 min mark and had to just shut down and go with youngest dotter to hospital. Happy with the point away. We are OK as we have played one more game than the pack chasing us and have taken points doing so. The chasers could very well lose points. Points taken with THR game in hand - always good un's . . .

A solid performance and a well earned point by all accounts. Shame we couldn't shade it as I've got no time for Saaarfend or their West Ham supporting fans. Hopefully they kept their change in their pockets this time. Was the game on a Friday because Phil Orange had an appointment at the tanning salon on the Saturday that he couldn't move or do their ASBOs not allow the fans out at a weekend?
Big game on Boxing Day now. Tranmere are hitting form so it will be a tough test but as as I always say I fancy us against anyone at the Pirelli. Looking forward to it.

A very cold night on the Essex Riviera and the match never really got going with strikers on both sides missing the target. Well done to McLaughlin for a couple of good saves. Morris didn't impress and Matty Palmer made a difference when he came on. A good spell in the 2nd half when we started to panic them but all in all a decent point and well done to the Albion fans who made the trek from Burton.

A good point I think. Sounded a poor first half. The table this morning doesn't look great 2 points behind and 2 more games played than those around us. However, we have played 12 away games and only 10 at home. If we can keep drawing (or winning some) away whilst keeping good home form, we are in a very good position.

I must confess I think it's been hard on Matty that he has been left out.

I felt that the table consolidated us nicely in the top 4 and the point about more away games than home is an important one.

After todays games we are in 2nd place on points (2 off TOTT) but 4th due to GD. There are only 4 teams with a better GD than us, one being right behind us in the table (Plymouth), and our GD has been moving in the right direction since JFH took over. True we have played one game more than all with the exception of Exeter. But we took an away point from than game in Exeter so the other teams have to match or beat that result when they play their game in hand.....Bring on Tranmere! COYB!!!

I think the top of the table will remain close over the next couple of weeks looking at the fixtures Wycombe v Luton Shrews v Wycombe Brewers v Shrews Luton v Shrews

We need one of wycombe, shrewsbury or Luton to fall away
With the fixtures above it might be Shrewsbury. Touch wood and all that.
Would love to get to third and get some daylight between us and fourth.

Yeah, there some big games in that list. Shrews have the 3 big games. They can't all win so someone will probably slide down, even if every game was a draw and we won ours vs Shrews we would be in good stead.

I too had a torrid time listening on Radio Derby and it's terrible the emotions you go through, without any visuals.
On the whole I think we'd have taken a point at the start of this one, although looking at the highlights, maybe Alex could have just sneaked it for us but they will probably think they should have done likewise?
Not a bad position to be in at Christmas and as has already been pointed out, there are several games to come, where some of our close rivals will inevitably slip up.
With Jimmy suggesting there will be new faces in January and as he sees it, weaker players going, we certainly have more to look forward to in the new year.
Of the three games over the festive period, personally I see Accy away as the toughest test of the three but with everyone else fighting between themselves, I firmly believe we will be in one of the top three places by the 3rd of Jan. Which one depends more on us than those around us, as they will be taking points off each other.
So massive respect to the 64 who braved cold and lousy travel conditions on Friday and a happy and peaceful festive season to all Brewer's fans.
It'll soon be Boxing Day afternoon!
