Burton Albion sign Bryn Morris on a one month loan from Middlesbrough. Not too much out on him, he captained Englands U16s, U17s, U18s last year and the U19s this year. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryn_Morris

I wonder if this means Lenihan is done after Luton? or if Sharps in out for a bit?

Looks to me like he's more CM than CB - perhaps a bit like Moose - so if Moose stays in the back line, where does this leave Sharps and Taft and will Morris play in front of the back-line - maybe Lenihan will be going back to Blackburn but JFH seemed really keen to keep him for longer....
but where will this leave Weir and Bell, whether Lenihan stays or not?
Before he left we were told that GR was looking to reinforce the left side and up front, weren't we? JFH's immediate priorities seem to lie elsewhere...

The most significant thing for me with this signing is JFH is using one of his contacts from an higher level, good for the Albion.

Bolder and Macca paid the price when we last changed managers. Judging by Hasselbaink's preference to go with a younger and more energetic midfield I'd say the same may happen with Robbie and Lee. I could really see Lee being player coach. Gut feeling is Robbie's days may be numbered.

I think some fans on here were calling for bringing in a striker/goal scoring midfielder to add to our goal total. And some were calling for help for the defense to the stop the glut of goals conceded. I think with Gaz bringing in Lenihan and now Jimmy bringing Morris the latter is being addressed, hopeful that Lenihan signs for another month or more.
Jimmy has said he wants to play a passing game from the back and you have to have a little pace and quickness to do that, so that could mean some of our older/slower players may be left wanting for a game. There is always the loan market.

Great pedigree - has played for England through all the youth ages and a captain
Performing well for Middlesborough in under 21 games
Either defence or midfield
Middlesborough will want him to play for us to get more experience
But it's hard to bring a player in for a months loan at this age and put them straight into the team etc
He should be comfortable on the ball and able to play the ball out from the back
As with Lenihan I hope there is some agreement we can take til end of season if he impresses this month as otherwise disrupting the team for 2 or 3 weeks with a young player doesn't really help us long term
But if we get him for the season then he will get the chance to really contribute and learn at the same time
Whereabouts in midfield did he play when he came on?

He played 24mins at right mid when he came on for Gurks. I should think Boro just want him to get some first team experience, and if thats as a sub to begin with thats up to Jimmy. I agree short term loans don't really help much, unless someone comes in for cover 'just in case' and sits on the bench. So yes hopefully Lehihan (altho he has already has proven his value to us) and Morris (if he works out) stay for the season. They would fit Jimmys plan for a quick, passing game from the back. It also doesn't always help when a new manager makes a few new permanent signings/big changes to a team, it disrupts the symmetry that exists among the players and it takes time to rework that, not always but usually (look at Liverpool).
