Honourable? Not sure how you get that from the article. He's not afraid of the media though. I'll give him that.

Not sure what the FB poster meant by that exactly. Perhaps they were inferring honest or something?
He certainly doesn't shy away from questions and appears to have no need to blow his own horn. I thought it was a very good interview.

Everyone happy with JFH and his start at Burton? Got to say working away, I haven't been to many games, but he seems to have quietly gone on with his business and is continuing in the same vein as Gary R JFH seems to be taking the club onward from the previous good work done by GR. The main and very obvious difference is the style of play. GR became frustrated when he saw us lose games by trying to play good passing football, (an away game at Exeter which we lost heavily, and yet played good football), was I think the turning point, (he quoted this game quite often), and we reverted to a much more direct style. This was less attractive to watch, but still by and large served us well. JFH has set about trying to introduce a solid pass and move game. How successful he will be has yet to be discovered. Obviously opponents will now reassess us and change their tactics. I just hope we can move forward with the JFH philosophy, it is so good to watch. If we don't give the ball away too often to cause us real dangers of conceding goals, and score goals like last Saturday, then let the good times roll. If he can move the club forward with this entertaining style, I would like to think attendances will improve.

Thanks Claymillman, it's good to hear that we are moving forward - I will not be back in Burton to watch games until February at the earliest, so it's always good to pop on here and get updates. Fingers crossed JFH can continue to drive forward

Agree, JFH has taken us forward in his first 5 games, 4 against top teams in L2 with 10 points from a possible 15 (and not far from 13 from 15 but for 2 80min+ goals) and a +6GD. We can't be anything but thrilled with that, can we? Add to that the change in the style of play, exciting, hard-working, fast paced, passing football, and a couple of decent loans (signing Morris and extending Lenihan) and one potentially decent signing in Maynard...I like what I hear and read from Jimmy in interviews, and if you read the players comments on his training methods and game day approach/philosophy towards the game it almost sounds too good to be true. I was buzzing when he signed and still am. Hopefully there will be lots of BAFC boxing day game tickets stuffed into xmas stockings this year. COYB!!!

I'm very happy an optimistic from what I have seen so far. But then again I have only seen the two home games and a bit of the game v Wycombe on TV. The Luton game I didn't see a great deal of difference in style of play but against a very poor Hartlepool I did, although I can't remember one occasion when they ever pressed up into us and pressurised us into making a mistake. One swallow doesn't make a summer, just as one Mike Whitlow game didn't mean he should be manager. I bow to the greater judgement of those who have seen all the performances so far.

I guess we'll all know at the end of the season if the manager has done well but like any organisation it's better if the team knows what's happening. Prior to turning down Blackpool, Rowett's record was 16 points from 6 games; from then until JFH took charge of a match we took 13 points from 10 games; and from Wycombe onwards it's 10 points from 5 games.

Maybe tonight was another example of free flowing JFH football, or maybe pragmatic Rowett JFH football…?
Dunno, I wasn't there.

Didn't sound like a free flowing pass and move game at all to be honest, though I wasn't there either. Jimmy Floyd said he was though pleased with how his team battled against a strong physical team, and said "You can't play pretty football every time". This is of course very true, but I'm sure he wants to play "pretty" football whenever he can.

"Burton Albion have developed a real knack of scoring from set pieces since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took charge. They have scored 14 goals under their new boss and seven of them have come from set plays – eight if you count Damien McCrory’s penalty against Tranmere Rovers. It is a staggering percentage of goals to come from dead balls, especially considering that Albion had not scored a goal from a corner this season before the new manager came in." and I would wager a guess that Matty Palmer has assists on the 6 corners as well as scoring a free kick himself. Jimmy really has him playing well.
