for those who may be visiting the forum and may not be aware of Colin's story. It was in his honour that both Burton and Derby fans did a minute of applause at their playoff finals at Wembley. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p029p8sc

Thank you for posting this Norah, a very sobering and brave interview from Colin. I can understand where he is coming from, I myself was diagnosed with cancer in November 2009 and it was estimated I had 12 months to live. I was very fortunate and had a life saving liver transplant and have a future to look forward to. My prayers go out to him.

Sorry everyone… have edited the thread… that is the problem of posting something at around one in the morning… although slightly made worse by the subject material.

Sadly Colin Bloomfield died at 5 past 7 this morning in hospice near Shrewsbury. Only 33 years of age. Very sad indeed.

RIP Colin - a great commentator and broadcaster as well as a thoroughly nice guy. Please support Radio Derby's safe sun campaign in his memory.

There is 5 pages in memory on Shrewsbury fans forum, nice to see Shrews players on the pitch at the end with Colin Bloomfield and Lloyd Burton on their shirts. Young Lloyd died of cancer last week aged just 11 years old and had spent a lot of time with the players this season. Although they want that title if you red the forum they have been very complimentary towards the Albion. Decent fans in my book.
