Agreed about the poor turnout. The ones who stayed away were the ones who missed out though. I hope gates will improve if the Brewers can carry on playing and winning matches. The faithful supporters are overdue some cosistency and results for their continued support for the team. I was also very worried when for some reason Atkins set off on a 40 yard sprint for a ball he had no chance of reaching. He seems to have a brainstorm at times.

An absolutely amazing game!! Brilliant team effort. More of the same on Saturday please. Disappointed we conceded what appeared to be 2 soft goals. I too wondered what Atkins was doing trotting over to the corner flag, leaving his goal exposed!

I was not expecting that! Unbelievable what a response after Saturday's disappointment. 3-0 inside 15 minutes. It was like a dream! Shame we couldn't hold on to the 6 goal lead because that would of been a good boost for GD for later in the season. At least we turned the 3 goals round. Not one bad player on the pitch but I would off liked to off seen Webster instead of Paterson. He would off loved to off got a goal last night.

Couldnt believe my eyes as i saw the scores rolling in, dont think people should get on atkins back, i think he is a very good keeper who still has alot to give, but what a win, just hope we can perform against fleetwood when i will be making the long 3 hour journey from bournemouth!

A very good display from the lads to night the only problem that we have is that we are letting to many goals in still only AFC Wimbledon have let more in. Once this has been sorted then we can really push on and have a successful season

literally 30 seconds into the game they kick the ball into our end to Ross and this old "rhymes with cat" in front of me says "oh deary me, here we go again". FFS people! but 14 minutes later he and his mates had nothing to moan about so they switched to the ref. sad. it could well have ended 6-4 as they missed two sitters in the last few minutes. did the 3 subs change the rhytmn or did we just lose focus? and Ross was fine, made a few good saves, the one he went to catch and tipped over.....think the sun was in his eyes! six goals from 6 players, including 3 from the midfield, great news. and what an exciting first half that was. what if Billys curler had gone in instead of clanging off the post.... tough picking MOTM, Stanno and Zander were both sound again, but it went to Weirdo. brilliant stuff, keep it going on Saturday. get behind the lads. COYB!!

No Jonesey, the two that slipped through his hands This is pure BS. No goals slipped through his hands. The whole team lost focus for the last 12 mins and they scored two too easily. But after we were chanted "we want 7" their response of "we want 2" was brilliant!! good on ya wombles...

I work a 5 minute drive down the road and I was on nights last night so I missed the game. Gutted to say the least!
Absolutely fantastic from the lads. By the sounds of it the game was like the Crewe game at home last season but with more clinical finishing...and when was the last time a centre half scored for us???
It's just a shame that Wimbledon were on the receiving end. I've got a lot of time for them and their supporters. After the drubbing we got down there last season there was no gloating whatsover when we were walking through the home supporters at the end.

A fantastic first home match of the season. I got home and just like Ilson Brewer probably did, I had a celebratory lemonade. Having 6 different scorers really is a bit special.
We still need to tighten up at the back. You don't very often win if you concede two goals. GR has implied this in his post match interview so it is not just me with a half empty rather than half full glass.

GR has implied this in his post match interview so it is not just me with a half empty rather than half full glass. You're right Frank, and I'm pleased GR concentrated on this issue even though he was delighted with the game overall, as we all were. The more I hear from GR the better I feel about the team.

So refreshing not to see Corbett or McGrath in a Burton side, the longer the better.

If Weir and Bell stay fit, Macca doesn't get a kick for me I'm afraid. Not in the same class. Perhaps he was 5 years ago.

Only on a brewers forum could you score 6 goals, win the game handsomely, and still get folk moaning!! The wombles simply went back to what they (the old womble team) were renowned for, hoofing it into the area, that coincided with our lads tiring paid dividends for them, but you cannot blame Ross for the first one, the guy had a clear shot from well inside the box, if anyone was to blame the defenders were, second one he could have done better with, and the run out, hmmmm, well he's a young lad and still learning his trade, for me he has made massive strides forward from last season. All in all a fantastic performance all round, and I sincerely hope we can produce more of the same tomorrow.

Fully agree Reg, but it does no harm to point out the odd worries, whilst still acknowledging a magnificent performance by the team. Everbody knows more than anything that our goals against column has to improve by a mile from previous seasons. I also agree that the criticism of Atkins is totally uncalled for, except for his run around in the second half, which fortunately cost us nothing, though it had my heart in my mouth ;D
