629 clubs enter the FA Cup so the decision being made by 3% of the entry is grossly unfair. I hope as a club we join the 100 or so already objecting to the decision. The EFL members who took part in discussions claim to have been duped. Hope Jez Moxey comes out and says so as well.

Talking of the fa cup. Gutted for Coventry. His toe nail deprived them of a final. Absolutely robbed. I hope they get destroyed in the final.

Felt gutted for everyone involved at the Sky Blues. Doesn't seem that long ago we were beating them at The Ricoh, remember the great Stuart Beavon scoring in front of us away fans. Well done Coventry, you done your City proud todayđź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

Such a shame that VAR robbed them of it for such a marginal call.

Article in one of the papers been sent to me by Earwig (remember you old timers?) To paraphrase, the Chairman is saying a compromise would be allow a team to switch the match, so if we are drawn at home to a big club such as Sheffield Wednesday, we could switch the game to have a day out and pocket lots of cash. Not for me. Whilst I agree with what you’re saying using Burton Albion and Sheffield Wednesday for your example an alternative view is at the beginning of this season Uttoxeter Town were drawn at home to Bury (remember them?) in the extra preliminary round and switched the “home” tie to Gigg Lane. There were a number of factors for this decision including taking police advice as Uttoxeters ground would probably struggle to cater for the 800 or so Bury fans expected to travel to East Staffordshire. That said the local pubs missed out on a big bonus payday. The attendance at Gigg Lane for this match was just under 3,000 which to give some context is more than the sum of Uttoxeter Towns total home attendances for the whole season so the gate receipts from that match alone really helped towards the clubs running costs this season. Something else that doesn’t make sense with these new proposals is why are they scrapping replays in the first and second round when the precious Premier League clubs don’t enter until the third round? That said though I don’t agree with scrapping replays at all, all part of the magic of the best cup competition in the world.

Such a shame that VAR robbed them of it for such a marginal call. They were not “robbed”. It was the correct decision. The problem is not VAR, it is the laws of the game. VAR simply indicates whether or not the laws were infringed. You can clearly see that part of his foot was ahead of the last defender. According to the laws, that is offside.

Then all it comes down to is the money involved not the actual sport itself. And your hoping all of a sudden (and it will) that if Uttoxeter Town get a big club they'll get thousands wanting to 'hang on' for one game.

Then all it comes down to is the money involved not the actual sport itself. And your hoping all of a sudden (and it will) that if Uttoxeter Town get a big club they'll get thousands wanting to 'hang on' for one game. But with the Uttoxeter Town vs Bury situation as well as switching the “home” game to Gigg Lane on police advice the gate receipts from that one match alone would have been a considerable chunk of Uttoxeter Towns budget for the whole season and it’s not like all the money sloshing around at the top filters down to grass roots level. As for the sport itself this would have given those players a once in a lifetime chance to play in front of nearly 3,000 in (what will be for them) a decent stadium instead of playing in front of 100 with a rope around the pitch. Re your second point this has happened to us. We took 11,000 to Old Trafford and three days later play Woking in front of 2,000 in the Conference. So what happened to the other 9,000 and how many of them have never been back to the Pirelli since then? Going back further we took 10,000 to the old Wembley in the FA Trophy final in 1987 when we were getting attendances of 600 or so in the Northern Premier League that season. This happens to all lower league clubs and will do for the next club which reaches the first round for the first time.

That's the trouble now, money grabbing and because it's a big club we play it's, I want to be there. When we played Man Utd both matches I didn't go, when we played Man city, I didn't go. I had quite a few folk who I didn't know very well asking me if I could get tickets for the matches, cheeky b**** This week I see on FB folk reaching out to anyone, have you got any tickets for the last home match at Pride park? Nope play it at home, Burton did then got a replay, do it the proper way. If they carry on with the current FA cup proposals then the FA cup is going to be a farse because money bags big clubs will rule even more.
