The pitch isn’t helping us, it’s terrible
Referee was awful today
Lincoln defended very well
Apart from that I don’t really know what to say

No point in blaming the ref, or the pitch. We were rubbish, simple as. We ended with seven forwards on the pitch and we still couldn't muster a chance.

That was pretty poor to be honest. I’m not sure what to make of it. Baffled. I think you're being polite there saying it was pretty poor? Took Helm and Deji off, leaving Joe Powell on his own in midfield or should I say sat in front of the centre backs. No deliveries of quality from the wing backs, very very poor performance, no shape and running round like headless chickens for last 25 minutes. Don't know who was worse, Albion or the referee, I think the referee just shaded it🤣🤣 I think Bennett was supposed to play in midfield, but he was all over the place. The only solid performer for me was Brayford. Closely followed by Powell. Kamwa tried hard but didn’t really have a target to pass to. Same for Muzzy. Thought the Imps were poor too but they earned the points.

Way too many square pegs in round holes.
I still say we really needed something other than strikers at the end of the window. We've got the midfield three of Helm/Oshilaja/Powell and that's it. Harper is still out of favour so we can discount him, he couldn't even get on the field today which speaks volumes.
We're not conceding as many goals as we once did but we can't score.

3 stonewall penalties in the game, 2 for us, one for them, none of them given.
At one stage there was almost more yellow cards than fouls. It is a contact sport, a fould does not always warrant a yellow card.
Referees should stop warning players and holding up play whilst they do the warning for pushing and shoving and holding in the box. Just penalise it.
Shithousery from both teams was shocking. It is pissing me off.
Ref adds on 9 mins (frankly he could have added on 29 mins). In that time, he booked a player for time wasting, yet added no further time. Absolute nonsense.
They were better than us. They deserved the points. They were definitely better at the shithousery. A young team needs to learn quickly about that.

No complaints from me with the result. Yes, the ref was poor. Yes, we could have had two penalties at least but we just didn't create a chance of note and never looked like scoring. Let's be honest we never do. Even though we clearly do score now and again I am always surprised when it happens. There's never any build up leading up to goals and you never say to yourself "that was coming". We have had 3/4 years of playing survival football and it really shows. Every team we play can play more football than us, even the rubbish ones and the ones we beat.
MP said he knew what our strengths were before he started and I can see the logic in not trying to change too quickly but for me he may as well now. The issue is clearly how we mount attacks which is very hit and hope and doesn't have any pattern. I don't care who is playing up front for us it's a bloody hard gig and I think even prime Messi and Ronaldo would struggle especially on this pitch.
That should have been a winnable game today. Didn't think they were as good as Charlton and going down to ten men they clearly sat off until they realised we had very little in terms of attacking threat. Even before they scored they had two great chances either side of half time so it was no surprise to me when they scored and even less of a surprise when they held on to the lead lets be honest fairly comfortably.
Our attacking plan seems to be to send everybody up when we get a free kick inside the opposition half. Powell takes it, it gets headed away and the opposition break on us. Long throws, rubbish. Ball likely to be in our net 10 seconds after its taken than us scoring. We have to have more of a plan than that at this level. The balls into the forwards in the final third from either out wide or just punted up are massively lacking in quality and are very easy to defend against.
Lots of work for MP to do and Tuesday is massive now. Think there are a lot of teams just keeping everything crossed that Reading don't win because if they do, before we've won again, we really are in the cart.

Great post Annable, spot on, couldn't have put any better myself. It's a must win Tuesday I'd say, we need a rigid midfield, can't see Moon bring available, so if Hughes ain't fit, Deji onto the back 3, or go to a back 4 with Bola and Caprice as full backs?

A wet, grey and miserable afternoon, matched by a wet, grey and miserable performance by the Brewers.
Lincoln deserved that, though we made it easy for them. Every time they had the ball in our half, it looked like they had a spare man, not us. It was just a load of huff & puff and no result. Pass the ball along the back. Pass the ball from wing to wing. We've been here before.
Before they scored, they'd missed 2 or 3 absolute sitters and we were lucky to only be 1-0 down.
For me, same old, same old. 4 games with a new manager: out of our depth for 60 mins vs DCFC, 27% possession against Charlton, drab game against Cambridge and that cr*p today. Not been a great start for Mr Paterson. The only highlight for me was Bobby Kamwa.
The New Manager Bounce? Did you see it? It was those two goals against Derby.
PS When did Frank Spencer become a qualified referee?

I've been watching Burton Albion for 8 years that was the worst I seen them play. I don't know what was worse the first half or second half. As for the Ref he sent off a complete numb skull of a player. I think we have one somewhere on. 20 mins Lincoln had to play with 10 did we get a shot through out the game? God it could have been alot worse if you can get worse. Powell should have walked, and Lincoln should have had a penalty. In conclusion that performance we want Gary Mills back as manager or stick with the Dino part 2.

I though Bola had a decent game and Adebomi looks a good player.
Even with them down to 10 men Powell just sat in defence at times taking the ball from an actual defender to play the ball out sideways?? So many desperate substitutions and no real pattern of play yet again in attack. We never really looked like scoring today and Lincoln deserved the win after working so hard with Hackett looking a quality player for them.
Do we need really so many loan forwards? when Hackford came on, who did ok, I just thought that could have been an opportunity for Scott……
A must win on Tuesday night then 👍🏻

What an awful performance.I question the managers decision making today,we made far too many changes at the start and during the game. Our discipline's very poor too.I know the referee was way out of his depth but some of our challenges and their's were sunday morning stuff.I thought Lincoln were very average but they coped easily with ten men.We are going to do well to survive this season, that's for sure. It's a huge game on tuesday,a game we must win.

It was no surprise really. We shipped out a proven, experienced striker at this level and replaced him with inexperienced lads from the Premier League and Chsmpionship. We are going to struggle for goals.

We are going to struggle for goals. We were struggling for goals with the experienced, proven striker here Mikey, so no change there. Personally I’m glad mr.experience was moved on, he didn’t prove anything while here. We were a shambles today. Awful. Overall disappointing. On the plus I think Bola looks a good find and the lad from Palace too. The ref was needs investigating.
