The season is less than 3 days away. I am finding it hard to guess at how well we will do, so I thought would be the first to ask what the rest of you think?
I am going to predict another flirtation with relegation I am sorry to say. NOT the post Christmas freefall of last season rather a whole season of inconsistancy. On paper we have strengthened, but it is looking like Kee and Zola are getting there heads turned, and I have yet to shake off my view that Gary Rowett should not have sat back and let the almost disasterous run of last season happen.

lower table finish anywhere from 14th to 19th place i still dont think we have the quality of players or manager to get promoted to league 1. but we wont get relegated on the good side of things

I am thinking 10th-14th, we aren't play off standard but i think we have too much to be flirting with relegation

Don't think I've been less optimistic at the start of a new season. Would snap your hand off if you offered me third from bottom.

Personally I think Frank and DC are spot on - it feels like its going to be a long hard season and I feel the pre season attendances in the home sections of the ground are a reflection of the feeling about Albion generally. I hope I am wrong however.

I wouldn't read anything into attendances. I went to Derby vs. Sunderland last night and just over 3,000 turned up at Pride Park for that one. I think it's just basically people cannot afford pre season as well as paying for league games as well.
Lower to mid table I'll go for. If Richards can get his arse in gear and IF we keep Billy until New Year then maybe a bit higher.

Share Frank's view I'm afraid. I suspect there may just about be a couple of sides worse than us but I am not expecting a great deal. IF we lose Kee and/or Zola we are going to really struggle. Richards (if he decides he can't be bothered) and Yussuf? Already got quite a few injuries too which I fear may get us off to a bad start from which we will struggle to recover. The likes of Cleveland are going to have to buck their ideas up as against last season, especially with Mags and Phillips out.

It is very hard to get excited about the upcoming season given the last 2, but if everyone stays fit there is no reason why we can't flirt with mid-table, but that is very unlikely.
I'd love a settled back four, but Stanton and Diamond are very injury prone and Webster increasingly so. Will Atkins flap as much this season?
Put it this way there is more chance of us getting relegated than promoted IMO, I'm going for 17-19th place. A season of inconsistency and the sale of Billy Kee in January, if not before.

I predict same as before, may collect 30 plus points before xmas(if there very lucky)and then declare. Half squad still here from last season philips yussuf atkins shocking signings. And anybody who waves £50,000 for Billy Kee in January will get him. We should be called Burton Cost Cutting Albion.

Some Burton Albion fans don't half make me laugh, some just really baffle me. Suppose they'd feel happier if we hadn't won promotion and we were still in the Conference as a part time club.
What do fans expect of Burton Albion as a club nowadays? Even when we were in the Conference we were seen as one of the smaller clubs, even then!!!

I'm hoping that we can finish above York, Morecambe, Barnet Dagenham ........& they'l be - maybe - one or two other clubs down there 'unexpectedly' like Bradford City or Bristol Rovers..... so, call me unambitious if you like - but I'll be happy with anything above 18th, really happy if it's 18th without flirting with relegation at the end of the season. and really, realy happy if we finish anywhere higher up the table I think - when you look at the Clubs now in League 2 - compared with our previous seasons - this looks like the toughest to me.... I'd like Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Liverpool or Arsenal in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup too please.....oh alright I wouldn't complain if it's Man Utd again either.......or Villa, Spurs or Sunderland I suppose.....

me too!!! We are stronger defensively with Stanno, Diamond, Holness and McCrory (and without TJ) stonger in the midfield with Weir and Bell and status quo up front and in goal. The hard bit will staying healthy as we do have a few players who tend to break down. mid-table finish.

I'm not as convinced by the defensive improvement so far having seen how susceptible we were in the air at Ilkeston. I hope you're right but we have made plenty of mistakes so far. Time will tell and at 5pm a week today we will know a lot more.

I will be satisfied with a 22nd position finish (stay in the League). Anything better than that is just frosting on the cake.
Way I see it - staying in the League is the PRIMARY AMBITION, all other "ambitions" are far behind this one - and very probably unrealistic at this stage of the Teams development in the League. We are still in our League "infancy" here Folks - stay real. COYB
