It doesn't sound very positive on the Ryan Edwards front given what Jimmy has said so we'll see what happens.
I know we rarely do, but I'd be tempted to put a 3 year deal on the table. Looking back at his career he's been fairly injury free and it gives both the club and player long term security.

I must admit, I now have complete trust in JFH and OD given they way they built a squad to survive. Anything that happens at Burton has to be tempered by limited budgets, but there are plenty of players out there I’m sure.

Personally I think we will see O’Hara and Gilligan with us and I’d like to keep Owen Gallagher too. Only Hamer under 30+ in the back 4. Jimmy's priory. Cameron Borthwick Jackson 24 yr old left back available on a free from Oldham. Jimmy interested according to press sources. Good pedigree but not yet climbed to the heights expected of him.

If we could get Borthwick-Jackson in alongside another loan deal for Earl we would have a very strong left hand side of defence.
Both are natural left backs but can play in the centre, and we know Hamer can do a job over there as well.
We could end up with:
Brayford - Right Back/Centre Half Hamer - Right Back/Centre Half/Emergency Left Back Bostwick - Centre Half Borthwick-Jackson - Left Back/Centre Half Earl - Left Back/Centre Half
If we get could those in, plus a top quality centre half, we'd be looking pretty good? I suspect Hayden Carter will be out of our reach, but then who knows what Blackburn think of him, he's only got 1 year left on his deal. If he stayed fit he'd be guaranteed 40+ games here next season. If Bostwick does sign and ends up our other centre half, we'll need someone with some pace next to him either way.

"Captain Leahy is departing the Mem having rejected the club's offer of a new contract and the Gas' top scorer from last season, with 10 goals in all competitions, is expected to stay in League One with Shrewsbury and Burton Albion among those interested"
Seemed half decent last year

Anthony O’Connor’s contract has expired at Bradford and hasn’t been offered a new one. Bradford fans not happy at all since he was one of their better performers in a disappointing season. Jimmy signed him on a permanent last time he was here. Versatile, still only 28...wonder if Jimmy will have a look?

In the words of the Blues Brothers we could try and ‘put the band back together’
Mark Duffy has been released by Fleetwood, Callum Reilly has been released by AFC Wimbledon, as you say Anto has been released by Bradford.
Now what is Tom Flanagan up to???

Duffy is 35 now so not sure I would expect him to return to be honest.
O’Connor is an interesting one. A versatile defender who could also play as a central defensive midfielder. I really rated him when Gary Rowett had him on loan at right back for a season. Suspect we are probably looking elsewhere but we could do worse

According to Walsall & Rovers fans Leahy is decent going forward & a goal threat but horrific defensively, sounds like a slightly better Colin Daniel 😅
I always liked O'Connor, NC cleared him out ASAP but he was always fairly steady, not too sure if he's upper League 1 level or not though.

I don’t think Duffy will be back. He’s 36 in October and I don’t imagine he’d come cheap. I see he also only managed half a season with Fleetwood. He’ll end up at a North West club in L2 I reckon.
A winger called Jordan Graham has been released by Gillingham. Big lad, 26, from Coventry, Gills fans disappointed he’s gone. I’m sure he was sounded out as a threat before we played them earlier this year and he was a bit of a handful. Sounds like a Jimmy type player. Can create goals but good in the air as well. Could be a possibility.

He did cause us a few problems , but I would have thought that Jonny Smith will have that position covered .

I too saw that Jordan Graham was on the Gills release list. Highly rated I don’t think he will be short of offers and I wouldn’t be disappointed if we were in for him. Think he is ex-Wolves?
Leahy, by all accounts has played two seasons in League One.......relegated both times. Oops.

A couple of interesting players released:
Jack Bonham - Goalkeeper from Gillingham. Comfortable passing at the back (which I seem to remember was a major factor in JFH getting Dillon Barnes in on loan... however he didn't exactly impress when given a chance).
Nathan Baker - Left sided centre-back from Bristol City. Highly experienced. Was out injured most of the season, but now back to full fitness.

Baker pre-injury was a fantastic player at Championship level. I think financially he's out of our reach, wouldn't surprise me if he ended up at somewhere like Coventry.

Hi all hope everyone's well. Not posted during the 'ghost season' because after previously knowing the players so well by their every subtle on-field quirk and habit I just didn't get into the alternative method of watching the games I'm afraid. Very strange knowing we've evidently got some really interesting new talent none of us have seen play in the flesh... really hoping we're back down there imminently. Going to have a right good session at SSC when the time's right too! Can't wait to analyse the fixtures next month. COYB.

Out of contract: I would keep* Garratt* Hawkins Mancienne* Bostwick Edwards* Wallace Rowe* Akins* Hewlett
Maybe Fondop deserves a short term contract as he did well. Not sure what’s happened to Parker? I know a few rated him on here but I just couldn’t see it tbh.
