I remember soon after we moved to the Pirelli we had a midweek match vs Morecambe (c September 2005) and lost 0-4, we were played off the park that game, never got anywhere near the ball, Morecambe were absolutely brilliant that evening. Not so much a bad Brewers performance, more of a best opposition performance really.

That final away game at Doncaster to clinch promotion to the championship it was a god awful game to watch, both teams finding it difficult to actually play football. You know the rest.... I always remember going down to watch them play Clevedon. It always sticks in the mind the game should've been called off, no way could you kick a ball a on that surface. It wasn't the team's fault but talk about a poor pitch being a great leveller, ankle deep mud after monsoon like rain. I still think of O'Reilly had put that chance away when clean through we'd have gone on to get 3 or 4 but yeah I get what you're saying. There's not many games that are both horrible and beautiful to watch. Couldn't believe our luck when their players started dropping like flies. It was like we were destined to get the result.

Torquay (A) anyone? 26th April 2009. Did you know that exactly 12 months before was that fabulous 4-4 vs Exeter?

It was Callum Butcher that went clean through I believe Broomo.

That 5-0 at Elland Road against Dirty was a horrible spectacle to witness. To be fair it wasn't necessarily a bad performance, just a team that were far superior to us on the day. If I had to single out one Brewers game to fit the expression 'knife through butter' - this would be it.

In the Football League era the 7-1 defeat to Port Vale was an absolute horror show. In the non-league era, the 6 nil home defeat to Bromsgrove in the Southern League Cup. Brian Fidler was sacked soon after the end of the match.

Looking back over many Brewers games that I have witnessed I can't really recall being so uncomfortably numb, shocked, disorientated and disbelieving. It was a 'Did that really just happen?' emotion.

After match interviews, Pesch's face was a picture as was Mark Yates. They both looked shell-shocked. Hilarious.

Now I understand why attendances have dwindled so much... they need to bring back the whole-ground pause and loud siren every time a goal goes in! Imagine being in the away end that day, incredible.
