Names so far are for possible out goings -Boyce =Fraser=Wallace. so far no rumours of in comings to bolster our defence, i think for us Feb cant come quick enough. We normally leave it till late Jan. Maybe a couple of loans.

We must keep Fraser.
Boyce - we need the cash (signing-on fee plus his wages) to get a few more bodies in. I really like him and would love to think he has just started a massive scoring spree but I think we should cash in, if the price is right. Sorry folks, but I'd rather sort out the "players need a rest" issue first.
Of course, if someone wants to pay silly money for Scotty, it depends how much - then let him go. We did alright before these players came and we'll do alright if they leave.
I always end posts like this with the same few words - I trust Ben, Nigel & Simon.

I think a lot hinges of what happens on Sunday and whether we can win, pocket the £130k or so prize money and then pull out a plum tie in round four. The potential financial windfall from that, and we should know one way or another after the draw on Monday assuming we get through, will affect decisions made through this month.
Will we get enough to persuade Boyce and Fraser to sign contract extensions, who knows, and will depend on their own personal situations and ambitions which none of us are privy to.
Either way I don't think we will let anybody leave until we have replacements lined up and I suspect it may go to the last week before things drop into place which would be good in one way as we have lots of games between now and the end of the month and want to get as much out of Boyce and Fraser as possible should they end up leaving.

I don't see anyone from the Championship coming in for him .League One is his level , whether anyone else rates him at this level to splash cash out on him , probably not .When they could get him for nothing at the end of the season .

The price won’t be right for Boyce - we’d get about 20% of what we paid at this stage.

Boyce for me has to be 500k minimum.. Think he cost 600k. I do not want him to leave. Maybe we do not need to. Hopefully we beat Northampton. Then draw united away which is on TV so we get 50 percent of a 75k crowd plus the TV money plus the 140k from beating Northampton. That lot could equate to over half a million. Of course it would be easier if we could put 1000 on the average gate to bring cash in to pay for a wage increase but that looks highly unlikely.

If he's worth 500k then he will be wanting that for himself rather than the club with just the rest of the season left on his contract Before his agent discusses wages So will end up being some kind of compromise somewhere In the past at other clubs I've seen footballers develop "illnesses or injuries" the closer they get to the end of a contract Knowing they have another club and deal waiting for them

For most clubs £500-000 loss after 3 years service and goals achieved would be a pittance, we picked up 10 million having spent 2 years in the championship. If Boyce stays till the end of his contract,it will have been money well spent. My attention is a Nartey of our very own,a tall pacey aggressive central defender. Nartey plus A_N_Other would stop the poor goals we concede

Also depends if we have someone lined up to replace him as well and what those costs might be

Also depends if we have someone lined up to replace him as well and what those costs might be I think we're finally seeing the Liam Boyce we all hoped we were getting. It's a shame it didn't happen last season as then we'd have been able to cash in. Reading between the lines it seems his agent was trying to get him a champ club last year and they clearly feel he's better than league one. For the record so do I. It's been close to being a good move. I've come around to hoping the Bolton near miss may have him thinking twice. If he refuses an extension even a 12 month one we've got to sell him, no ifs buts or maybes. Even if it's 300k we have no choice. We can't afford not to. Still we're a half decent run away from the play offs and I fancy us tomorrow as well. So maybe him and Scott will look at the football we're playing, look at how they enjoy it and then do the right thing. Sign an extension get another 10-15 goals and have better options on the Summer.

Guys, at the mo we’d be lucky to get £100K. I think his recent burst may get us a few quid more but again the position we are in, if it's 100k now or nowt in the Summer. Take the 100k and thank him for his efforts. Lucas up top gives me confidence we'll still get goals with or without Liam. 100k is probably close to a first team regular wages for a full season. Boyce is a weird one. Not once have I doubted his quality but I have regularly doubted he wants to be here and that's not a feeling I'm used to having. I want him to stay but I want him to want to stay more. I fancy we'll get 250k even at this stage of his contract. Someone will pay that hoping his goals either keep them up or push them on a level. We don't have that luxury although it would be lovely to know if we still have a surplus due to Marcus H's fee which we couldn't possibly have budgeted for. Interesting few weeks ahead. I've still got a yearning in my bones to see Chris Martin rock up on loan. I also wonder if we may send Nathan back and try to get someone in who can play more often. I'd say he has a big future ahead of him but his first season in men's football may have come a year too soon.

I'd be hoping for considerably more.
I get different vibes about Boycie, I think he's happy at Burton he just doesn't show it, he doesn't go overboard when he scores either. But again what do I know, it's just what I pretend I see?

If he's got anything about him as pro then being honest he should have looked at his move to this club as a stepping stone to a bigger opportunity in English football. He looks quality at times and that long injury at the wrong time certainly didn't help. Like I say he's 28 and he will have missed the boat if he's still with us in next 2 or 3 years. Loyalty is great but loyalty at BAFC in reality means you've not done well enough for a bigger club to come in for you. And the club actually relies on some players doing well enough for bigger clubs to come in for them. Which reminds me. How is Marcus Harness getting on?

Harness: 18 appearances 3 goals for Portsmouth this season. Career stats 149 appearances, 13 goals. Boyce: 315 senior league appearances and 138 goals. Career stats 372 appearances 162 goals.

If Boyce goes, as long as we have a Decent replacement, then I am comfortable with it. Hopefully he stays a few more weeks and we reap the rewards of his purple spell. Including a goal or two Sunday. 150k prize monry Sunday would be nice also. Big week for us.
