Enjoyed your post broomo.and being a Burton fan does not mean you have to attend every game,We has a fan base fall very short, for competitive football at a higher level. But like all clubs our fans expect success, on the field . In the last 4 years we have moved from a small league 2 club,to expectations of top half league 1 and maybe a out side chance of the playoffs, And we always hope for a good cup run,to boost our finances,We have two forces at work here. The regular 2-500 die hards and a small club with a out of date ground, and a small capacity of 6-900, The club knows to compete at this level, when the away end is a sell out, their should be over 6000 in the ground. Brentford in the Championship. Bournemouth in the cup.approx 2=700 at each game INCLUDING away supporters, just highlighted the clubs plight. ian rightly mentioned loyal fans must be considered, So we have this impasse that must be resolved. Burton Albion does not have a big enough fan base to sustain top class football, and be competitive. Championship football again for the Brewers, playing against some giants in the game, must be our goal. Giving up the Don Amott stand is not the permanent answer. But giving up half the pop side ,could be achieved with little cost, Some thing has to give, for the 3000 loyal fans,to enjoy.League 1 football, and a chance for the club to grow. We must not bury our heads in past glory's, but make changes for a brighter tomorrow, and a few more international players to call our own

It's all about cash flow especially in the lower leagues. Doesn't help having no home league games since 14th September and for the month of November we could possibly have no home league games if the Southend game is called of due to players international call ups. So you're looking at the 7th December Lincoln game then, ok we've had the home EFL trophy game but they aren't going to keep the wolves from the door in regards money coming in via ticket sales. Yep difficult times, every sympathy for Ben and the team at Burton, not there fault re above but as I repeatedly said maybe not what fans want regards ticketing on this occasion.

Yeah, for me when home games come thick and fast I'll pick and choose. At the moment I'll go to any that come along...! Feels like ages since we had a home league game (because it has been)!

Don Amott stand now open to home fans after an increase in sales in last week or so which is good news.
Let's hope that prompts a further increase in sales rather than people just moving from the popside to behind the goal although from reading some comments over the last week there seemed to be a number of fans who had decided they would rather not go than move from their usual spot.
I've got to say that I just didn't get why people would rather stay away than stand with fellow Brewers fans on the popside and I think Ben has taken some unnecessary flak over this when all he has tried to do in maximise income for the whole club which in turn helps us stay competitive on the pitch.
Anyway let's hope we can get close to a full house and have another great cup night at the Pirelli.

Well now I wish I hadn't bought tickets earlier. As far as I can tell I've got to drive an hour and half to swop my tickets at the ground for the Don Amott. The queues for swops at the Wimbledon game will be daft. As I've said before the communication from the club on this has been very poor.

Well at least this is the best outcome, not sure about the swapping tickets thing though, again it could have been dealt with better. It's worked for Ben though, we've got more punters through the gates and I thought those tickets were heading to Leicester 🤫

Im sure Leicester fans will pick up some home tickets, any Burton fan Phone the ticket office i am sure arrangements can be arranged to swap tickets .Their is no way we will get 4-500 Burton fans. Giving up the Don Amott stand was always going to be controversial, and a desperate decision. All teams must have a home end behind the goal. Giving up part of the pop side seems a solution for big games, but alas changes will have to be made to make it possible, ,and away fans will still be contained to one end of the ground. We as a club face a dilemma, and challenge, once more a Wembley style Stadium would create a good atmosphere, And with our average attendance, within a few yards we can be in our preferred stand, while we wait for 3000 fans to join us in supporting a great club, and maintaining our position in League 1. Knowing this club with gates of 9=10 thousand Championship football would be possible. Ben Knows the club is losing out on games fans want to attend.but sadly not Burton fans.

Do we really want to play Leicester right now?? Hopefully they'll fancy their chances of a top four finish, when you look at how Arsenal, Spurs and Man United are dare I say stuttering? I'm hoping Brendan plays his under 23's, then we might have a sneak, any idea if their last league cup game saw them field an under strength side? Maybe we'll see Hamza back and as much as I like him, hopefully he'll have one of those moment we all know he's capable of and go lunging in on a wet pitch (without hurting anyone of course). As long as we have a go and don't sit back and try to defend, I'll be happy with that. Show them we can play if they let us.

hopefully they've got bored of scoring now and might let us sneak a 1-0 win Rogers has just said he won't get carried away by tonight's result as they now have to prepare for a big cup game on Tuesday. Hopefully that preparation involves loads of them getting paralytic drunk and eating kebabs before a trip to the casino and rocking up at home at 6am every morning between now and then. We've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

In their last two cup matches they've featured all the goal scorers from tonight.
I know saints went a man down very early on but they looked like a well beaten team at that point. I thought at 0-2 this is going to be embarrassing for them.

Leicester city over 369 million in talent to choose from, a waste of time evaluating the squad, with over 12 worth 10 million or more, and 5 topping 20 million or more. 3rd in the Premier league only 2 points off Man City. Once more a chance to see top players at the Pirelli. This is the perfect storm to test our defending and organisation in prep for Donny away. Once more a chance to see one of the top teams in the country in a competitive match at the Pirelli Stadium

Unlike some of our fans sitting near me in the seats I'm not going to spend time eulogising over how good Leicester are after all we could see that for ourselves but instead I think we should all be proud of how our lads did tonight especially in the second half where we had two or three real opportunities to equalise and maybe take it to penalties when it would have been up for grabs.
85th minute - quality move by the Brewers with the ball moved out to Sarkic who is one on the one with the keeper and should either hit the target or roll it into Boyce for an open goal tap in but instead shoots over. That was the game there and then, Yes they had chances and situations throughout the game but didn't finish us off and if we had been more clinical we could have caused a real shock.
Nice to see a six thousand plus crowd after all the pre match fuss over ticket sales and let's hope some of them come back for the league games in the future. We have a good team, worthy of watching and deserve to be playing in front of bigger crowds than we do and certainly rose to the occasion tonight.
I feel a sense of slight disappointment but only because of the chance at the end but feel proud of the team and the effort and character shown.
