I have been reading all opinions on Ben Turner and now this is mine.I think the decision from Ben to leave by mutual consent has done the club a massive favour because going on his injury problems over many weeks it would seem we wouldn't get to many games out of him to the end of the season.Ben Turner has been fabulous for us a big reason we stayed in the championship and such a commanding centre half when the high ball came in.Wish him well at Mansfield and hope we see him back next season and I for one will give him a big welcome.

Sorry to re start this thread but today's result got me thinking about the various stats banded about since Big Ben left out club.
As we know Ben departed on transfer deadline day and a few days later signed for Mansfield. Since then the Brewers have played two games and had two clean sheets(100% clean sheet ratio) and won one of those games(50% win ratio) which is higher than Ben's respective clean sheet and win ratios when he played for us.
Coupled with that, and I know he didn't play but technically he is a Mansfield player, they have played one and lost one(0% win ratio) and not kept a clean sheet(0% clean sheet ratio) which suggests to me that letting Ben leave was the right decision.
I accept that stats don't always tell the full story but I think this is overwhelming evidence that NC made the right decision.

Apologies for my earlier post it was actually an attempt at humour and a bit of a piss take from comments earlier in the thread. Sorry if it resulted in a few sense of humour failures! Even I'm not daft enough to blame BT for Mansfield's defeat when watching from the stands!

Poor Ben didn't enjoy the greatest of debuts today, booked (lucky not to be a red card apparently) and substituted at HT in a defeat to Nottingham County.

Is he injured still?
Not playing for the Stags tonight. Maybe the Stags need some stats?

Clough says any player leaving while under contract to the club--will only leave if it suits Burton Albion fc. Simple world we live in======only fans make it complicated ===Me again thanks Ben for many memories and good luck in all you do.

For instance if we were carrying one too many CB’’s presumably we would release the right one? That is not what happened here. From what been told in the space of a couple of days in January the club asked Fadz to try and find another club and leave in January when he declined they moved onto Ben. He too said no as even if he had a club interested he would not oass a medical so they then offered to pay Ben the majority of his remaining contract. Nothing to do with careful selection. All this at the same time as Bucko telling the club he will not be here next season as he is taking up a coaching role elsewhere. Quite incredibly then the club offered Fadz a new 12 month extension to his contract from June but on massively reduced terms. Fadz has obviously turned that down.

What did Andrea Leadsom say and was Theresa really a nodding dog? I love the insider leaks.

I did hope that with the article from the Accy Chairman being posted today that Royston would finally ‘get it’ that we are a small, well run club on a knife edge. Sadly not I guess.......

Just a quick stats update since dear old Ben departed the Pirelli.
Brewers - played 9, 5 clean sheet and five goals conceded. 3 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats. Mansfield - played 9 with BT featuring in 4(presumably due to fitness issues) where he has started just once(taken off at half time) and 3 sub appearances since then for 38 minutes, 11 minutes and 2 minutes respectively.
Managers are paid to make tough decisions and I'll let others decide whether this was the right one or not. Got no problem with the decision personally.

Turned down a contract offer at Mansfield.
A shame for Royston who had just bought a season ticket there.

Sounds like Big Ben might be in talks with Dunde who are managed by one of his former Coventry team mates.
If he signs it will be good to see Ben back in the Championship albeit the Scottish version!
