A lot of supporters may be like me and with two games this week and a cost of £47.00 for the league game plus the travel costs from the other side of Nottingham to get me and my kids in I chose the Middlesbrough game instead. A fair point this. The cost of so many games adds up, especially if paying for family tickets.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Porky. I wasn't at the game so I didn't hear the announcement and this is the first chance I've had to have a good read of this thread and been able to comment.

Turns out second goal was disallowed for nr7 pulling nr10s shirt
That's cancelled out the poor decision at Barnsley then...

2 games at home in quick succession is expensive for most people I think, many will have gone for the Middlesbrough game for a tenner I imagine, we will see what Tuesdays attendance is.

There are 200 seats in total on each row of seats from end to end. Take away the VIP area and blocks 5,6,&7, there are well under 100 per row in the blocks 1,2 & 3. These seats are also occupied by home supporters who dine in the Albion suite. Nobody is calling you a "I've just used a rather silly word & been auto-edited", but your maths seem to imply someone is mistaken or worse

Last season I got into trouble for counting how many seats were in the blocks, then counting how many blocks were full and then not being able to understand how low our attendance was in comparison to how many were clearly sat in the seats
Just saying
Maybe the 3400 reported is inaccurate?

I've said before I don't think the fans who go into hospitality are counted by any turnstile or part of our attendance - if a load of them have seats that might explain something
And it doesn't mean anything is dodgy - just maybe the way we choose to count the fans

Does it matter ? Let's talk about the strategy for beating Middlesbrough without getting knackered...!

Clay, "Nobody is calling you a "I've just used a rather silly word & been auto-edited"," - I never implied someone did, you have missed the point on this. Ian had, in another thread, wrongly accused me of calling him a "I've just used a rather silly word & been auto-edited". And I am not quite sure why he did that! And "but your maths seem to imply someone is mistaken or worse". Not at all, I simply made an observation. Away fans are allocated 1800 tickets, 1100 behind the goal and 700 in two blocks of seating. I observed that there were a lot of posh dressers seated plus more than half of the away end. My observations may be inaccurate but they may not be that's all, not accusing any one of anything! And I'm not sure why that caused such a stir?

I will not allow this to become a spasmodic vendetta, or indeed I will not allow the forum to become a slanging match between two members. I will send out pms to those concerned. What is more the whole thing didn't even start here as I understand it.. it was on the FaceBook page. If you want to continue it then do so on there NOT ON HERE!
The next time that this issue of 'censored.word' is brought up I will simply temporarily suspend the member until I and hopefully they have calmed down

Middlesbrough have been allocated 380 seated tickets and 1350 terrace tickets (info from their website). Probably Peterborough were too.
So, less than 380 in the seats (as there were some gaps), probably about 316 and definitely significantly less than 1350 on the terrace, probably about 502.

With regards to the numbers attending matches, there are many time that the announced crowd seems too low, or indeed too high. But more to the point, do you honestly think that Ben would be stupid enough to allow the club to ruin it's reputation or subject itself to legal action for the sake of a couple of .... well how many fans would we be talking about? ... because at less than twenty pounds a head you would need to underestimate the crowd be a fair few to make it worth your while. Please realise also that there is a certain legal aspect to things that are put on this forum. There is a distinct difference to saying .. to me the crowd looked bigger than what was announced today, as compared to ANY club are under announcing crowds- which is effectively accusing them of an illegal act. With regards to the match.... As a fan under Cloughie's regime I constantly muttered under my breath that we were negative when one up and a few minutes to go ( or even an hour.....). The old Clough mandatory advice of the long ball into the corner and the following defensive play seems a delightful memory now. I hate to use the term 'naive', but the attacking, going for goal attitude is all well and good at these times if you can get the ball down the opposition end after the goal kick, as opposed to giving the opposition attempt after attempt to equalise. If JFL thought it was rubbish then it is up to him to sort it out. I sit almost behind the bench (the first block after the VPs) and have an excellent view of his intelligent pitched management) but in this situation I think that 'negative Nigel' gets it right! At the weekend on my Facebook feed I got one of those shared posts (actually from someone at the club) that 'offers advice'. This one was giving ten bits of help on how to cope with panic attacks. It was quite serious in its way, but i so wanted to reply by adding a couple for someone at a football match.. 1. if you a fan , remember it is only game.. or that at least it only those on the pitch who can influence the result. 2. For those on the pitch. ..Keep calm, stop faffing around and just clear the ...@@ ball!!

Personally I think Ant may/should be given a look. Nothing against Shane but he is showing his age, at least in that attacking formation, and especially in Blackpools goal on Tuesday. He may be fine in a fortress formation but he has had achilles and hip injuries and seems to be slowing down a bit. <ducks> "JIMMY Floyd Hasselbaink may look to rest Burton Albion centre-back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff in the near future to get the best out of him. The centre-half did not get a full pre-season under his belt as a series of niggles around his thigh prevented him from playing in too many early fixtures. But Hasselbaink is wary that the experienced Australian may need a break sooner rather than later in order to keep his fitness and form as good as possible." The two goals against vs Middlesboro may have convinced him.

I'm afraid you're right Peacock and I have to say I've always admired Shane's style and ease on the ball but he's just making too many errors.
It was first highlighted to me at Shrewsbury last season, when he dithered in our box, slipped and gave away the ball that led to their undeserved goal, when we had a point in the bag.
He did almost exactly the same against Barnsley two weeks ago, which led to their crazy penalty and it really is time to give O'Connor a run out in that position.
It appears Shane's decision making in our own penalty area is somewhat lacking and occasionally a firm boot into row Z is required over the wish to play flair football?
I hope Jimmy sees sense and get's it done for tomorrow's game...I'm almost certain he will?
