At first I was thinking I might give it a go some time Funky, but having seen the fantastic response you've received (bet you never knew you had such pulling power?) I'm not so sure now......if there's any space left in the car park, I reckon I'll be queuing at the bar for a drink for at least half an hour. Are you sure your prepared with extra barrels and extra bar staff with bonuses between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm on match Saturdays?

Plenty of room in the car park and I am fully trained in pint pulling so expect to see me behind the bar as necessary to negate the queues :-) If we can sell out I would be delighted, I am sure we will be fine though - plenty of Pedi to go around...

Swaddy, what will you do with the whippet while the match is on ? Maybe you can leave it at the club and pick it up after the match ! Tie it to the gate on the way in, if we win I'll fuss it, if we lose I'll whipit

As we usually park next to Stretton church we'll definitely call in on our next home visit.

Just been sampling the draught Bass, very palatable…
Not much time pre game tomorrow, a proper pre-season friendly next week and a different guest ale. However, if anyone fancies a quickie pre game tomorrow, we will be open from 11.30 ish.

Do you want me to just sticky this thread at the top Funky? Phil wants to know what ales you normally serve and how many are there to choose from? I was joking, the answer is no.

I am sure that I will find a way of bringing it back to the top. Having it as a sticky would be a bit too much to ask, there are several excellent emporia out there who may want the same…
As for ales - we have Pedi and a guest, we are an unpretentious village social club that is on the way up after a spell of stranding still (declining).
We are having a mini festival over the Bank Holiday weekend though - shame we don't have a home game...

Update - We will be open pre game Saturday, in advance of the Blues game. All welcome. We have Speckled Hen as guest ale.
You may see me doing some work, the newly installed TV fell off the wall last week. DIY is not my prowess :-)

Was going to do a review to bump you back to the top Funky but you beat me to it!! Decent pint of pedi at a good price. Bit lacking in atmosphere but the man known as Funky explained work in progress which should improve things. Easy getting served and parking ok even though there was a kid's party going on in another room. Timed the walk as 12 minutes from the door to the pop side turnstiles. Certainly worth considering, especially when big crowds are making other pubs rammed.

Thank riverman, I am sure once we get a few of the boys in and the match on the TV (once we have it back on the wall) we will be rocking (ish). Anyway, we are what we are, unpretentious, welcoming and reasonably priced. 12 Mins to walk? I manage in 8, but then again I have long legs :-) We may be looking at a shuttle run by a taxi anyway...

It's certainly a little oasis just out of the way enough for only a number of local fans to find. I'm sure that away fans would prefer the excellent Beech and Northern in any case. No-one ever mentions the Hanbury Arms on Sydney Street I notice. Why is that?

Nothing wrong with the Hanbury Arms always full of Albion fans on match days, hidden out of the way for a decent drink and atmosphere before the game.

I like the Hanbury, another pub that doesn't try to pretend to be something it isn't…
Update from the club, the TV has ben re-attached to the wall and BT Sports is cooking on gas… well it would be if they had anything decent on…

I have some very fond memories connected with the Hanbury Arms. Not all of them suitable for sharing.
