I was in two minds where to post this as it could affect us.
The Lancaster vs. Blackpool pre season friendly was today abandoned with 15 minutes to go after a small number of supporters invaded the pitch at the Giant Axe in protest of chairman Karl Oyston. Apparently the game had already been overshadowed by anti-Oyston protests.
This now means that two Blackpool fixtures in a row have been cut short due to pitch invasions. Since the FA have still yet to decide on the punishment for their previous self-inflicted abandonment, the fact that their supporters are clearly hell bent on disrupting as many Blackpool games as possible could mean that the FA make Blackpool play their first few home league fixtures behind closed doors, a possible punishment that has already been mentioned in the press both locally and nationally.
I don't know whether admin want to move this into the main board or leave it here. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Don't go booking them hotels yet, eh?

At £25 a ticket I wasn't going anyway :-(....

Whilst I feel desperately sorry for Blackpool fans with the crass manner in which the dubious Mr Oyston is running their club into the ground, I have to say that I do not hold with their manner of protest, in deliberately stopping matches to get their point across.
To have done it once in their last game in the Championship, whilst wrong, was probably marginally more acceptable than involving a friendly non-league club like Lancaster in their plight, during what was a big game for the home club?
I think it is safe to say that Blackpool fans have the full support of the vast majority of football fans in the UK and probably beyond but to keep involving other clubs in these pitch invasions is absolutely wrong.
We're all behind you folks but please keep your protests off the pitch, otherwise the FA will end up punishing the club and the fans, rather than the instigator of all the problems.
I really hope that the club find a way of sorting out this sorry situation as soon as possible, preferably before the new season kicks off.

Nice post Jono - I read on here last week that Blackpool have financial problems. Yet have had £120 million through the books since 2010. More people should be aware of what has been taken out of the club (allegedly)!

The best way home and away fans can protest is by refusing to attend and picketing the gates at home games. When they play away, both sets of supporters could unite in a chant of protest against the owners.

That's an incredible sum of money to pass through the books in such a short space of time eh Mikeyboy?
One has to ask the question as to where it has all gone?
I really fear for the Blackpool fans and the future of their club, as it appears that Mr Oyston has no intention of meaningful dialogue with the fans and on top of that, it would also appear that he has little regard for the future of the club, or making any investment to help it return to where it once was?
As you say, this is purely speculation but one could argue that observing from the outside, that's how it might appear?
If the situation carries on into the new season, you could easily see them drop straight through to League 2?

Coventry supporters put tremendous pressure on their owners by protesting and boycotting home games, but supporting their team away from home as often as they could. This affects the owners pockets in a big way.

I had to put allegedly Jono, as he had taken about a dozen or so fans to court and 2 of the message boards!

...so if they invade the pitch when they play Rochdale then our game will be played behind closed doors. 3 days notice. Seems fair.

I'm planning on going up for the day so if that happens it won't affect me. I do understand people have already booked hotels etc...though so not so good for them. What anyone who does go DOESN'T want to happen is an abandonment. Rule of thumb is that if the game gets abandoned for any reason then all we get is half price tickets to any subsequent or rearranged fixture between the two clubs. If we get the three points because of an abandonment and the game never gets replayed or rearranged (as in Huddersfield's case) then the host club SHOULD issue a refund. Guess what...Huddersfield supporters are still waiting for theirs...

John brown // July 21, 2015 at 10:57 am // Reply I wouldn’t bother coming, the general feeling here is that every home game will be abandoned. The away games will be fine.
The above comment under the article tells you all you need to know really
They must be worth a bet to get relegated as they are going to get some serious points deductions if the above happens

Looking on the brighter side, if Blackpool fans mess up their season we will only have 3 other sides to finish above ! I'm very confident we can achieve that !

Its shocking what has happened at Blackpool, we are in a very lucky position at Burton with our club being so well run. I have been working with a Blackpool fan this week it is incredible to listen how a club has gone from the Premier to despair in a few years is crazy, although I don't think some of their supporters are helping, I would like to think if we were in a similar position we would all support and encourage the players and allow them to play. Why are the FA just standing and watching them implode is my question?

Why are the FA just standing and watching them implode is my question? Problem is Caley, when the owners are signing Conference level players to compete in the Championship and have (allegedly according to some) trousered £120 million that was meant to secure the club for years to come, 'supporting the players' is a hard thing to do. And when fans challenge what is going on they are taken to court for opposing it, who can blame them for trying to force the owners to sell.
