I don't like the sound of the Derby defender with just 35 appearances in 7 injury hit years Sounds like Maletic I'm a bit picky about injury records when signing players

Looking probable since the Dutch are talking about it as well. www.bsiderats.nl/suk-afgetest-bij-het-engelse-burton/Using Google translator so excuse the grammar: "Suk scanned at the English Burton Joey Suk mainly benchwarmer in Breda. The 2013 came over midfielder played so far in 21 games along with The Pearl of the South. Reason for Suk to go seek his fortune elsewhere. This he has done in the English Burton, where he was a few days trial. After a short training, the midfielder has been scanned by the club. The contract runs from mid 2017 at Suk, but NAC Suk has already indicated that he may look for another club. In all likelihood Suk will next Sunday for the last act for NAC. Coach Robert Maaskant can not rely on Joeri de Kamps and Gill Swerts (both suspension). Naah is a doubt with an abdominal muscle injury case." This is Burton Albions fans forum? We are discussing Albion signing a guy who is coming into his prime years (25 years old), currently playing in the Dutch top flight. OK, Breda are struggling but still, it's a shame Man Utd have finalised the Memphis Depay signing, could have been worth a punt ;-). A few more articles on this story in Dutch media... sepakbolabelanda.com/joey-suk-cari-peluang-di-liga-inggris/www.bndestem.nl/sport/nac/suk-op-proef-geweest-bij-engelse-burton-1.4909603www.voetbalzone.nl/speler.asp?uid=72335It was picked up on Facebook following a tweet from what looks like a NAC Breda twitter account. As someone else has posted on Facebook though, the players are away on holiday so he may be a little lonely training with himself... Maybe he's gone on hols with them then! What a lonely life you two must have, always trying to take the piss.....sad

Now this one does look likely, the reason ? Jimmy says so himself. Whether its a permanent or loan deal if it happens I'm not sure. My suspicion is we will look for a permanent deal. If we can keep him fit he will be a tremendous signing. I hadn't realised he had stayed with us after his injury or that he lived locally. Everything points to him signing. It all depends on the Blades and hopefully Nigel can do us a good deal.

I hope we can do the deal, a real potential I think, if he stays fit...

I believe he is a TOP QUALITY player - if fit better than any player in the League let alone our team
If fit without an injury record way better and more expensive than we could afford in this League
We need a clever contract though because his injury record is dire - that's my only concern and we can't afford to pay players large amounts of money who aren't contributing every week
He kind of needs a club like ours to give him a chance though purely due to his injury record and thus he should be open to negotiation on a pay per play deal

He was at Cambridge and joined the celebrations on the pitch so he obviously feels part of the squad. And I'm pretty sure I saw him on the pitch at the Trophy presentation. I wonder if he was with the Blades on their playoff matches? It's a tricky one, would Nigel pass him on to a team in the same division, esp. us with the connection. But he allowed him to stay here for treatment to his injury. And then there is the injury concern. I haven't seen him play at all so can only go on videos and reports from others and the fans where he has played. He certainly sounds like he has the tools to be a good player in League one and if Jimmy feels he is worth taking a chance on then that's good enough for me.

I hope this could be arranged as a loan, since he has a year to run at the Blades. Obviously playing against the Blades would not be allowed by NC, but this gives him a chance to prove his fitness, before any new contracts are offered by the Blades or possibly ourselves.

With him only having a year left on his contract the only loan that could be beneficial to sheff utd would be til January to see if he gets fit then take him back and offer a new contract
If they did a season long loan it's no different to letting him go on a free now
If I was them I would either get rid or loan to January with option to recall if he's fit and flying
If I was us I would want him on a free transfer so he can't be recalled and a contract that covers us well if he's injured again
His injury record should scare every club not just us
Albeit JFH hasn't been scared by injury prone players so far from what I've seen

FWIW, A mate tweeted joey suk about speculation of him joining us and his brother, Danny, replied "he is"

I think the original tweet said 'looks a quality player'......to which Joey's brother said 'he is'
Doesn't read to me like a confirmation that he is signing for us. Will have to wait and see but a player straight from the Eredivisie would not be bad.

As you know the text of the tweet was "Speculation that joeysuk is joining burtonalbionfc, looks a quality player". To which his brother replied "he is". Since i didn't know exactly what should be read into this i started the comment with FWIW (for what its worth) and ended with ( ) (read into it what you will). There is never confirmation of anything until the papers are signed.

I know you were speculating as to the context of the tweet. No problem with that.
As you say nothing is certain until a contract is signed. Even when terms have been agreed eh? ;p

Joey Suk looks a very useful player and it does look like we have shown some interest in him, perhaps there is something in the tweets but who really knows, all we can do is speculate. He has another 3 years on his contract to run and is currently in the top league in Holland. From the outside it would seem an unlikely move but we don't know Jimmy's contacts over there or what pull he has. I think he would be a very interesting signing but at the risk of repeating myself we are going to get many rumours like this prior to the start of next season. The Florent Cuvelier signing however does look more likely as Jimmy has been quoted on this particular player.

Yeah, agree with the many rumours thing. But it does seem that something happened, either he was here for a look, fitness test or . . whatever. It is a bit slow though after so much end of season excitement that still continues with me, still pinching myself. So slow that even the nitpickers are bored and squirming for entertainment. That said, I hear Xavi is looking for a move.

Understand where you are coming from. One month's rest prescribed while you top up your batteries for next season. Jimmy's on holiday so you won't hear owt confirmed for a while !
