Voting ends at 5pm after the Wycombe game on Monday...
Personally I think we could toss a coin between several players for POTY. I love Beavon and would be quite happy if he wins it, Phil has been great and Robbie since mid-November...but...I think this is all right, correct me if I have have erred.
Moose went to CB after the 16th game In the first 16 games we scored 21 goals or .76 gpg In the last 24 games we scored 37 goals or .65 gpg So our goals scored have actually dropped but still fairly even
In the first 16 games we conceded 20 goals or 1.25 gpg In the last 24 games we conceded 14 goals or .58 gpg
On the 16th game (when Moose took over at CB) our GD was +1 Right now our GD is +24
So, since Moose went to CB our GD has improved by +23, our goals scored per game has dropped a bit, but our goals conceded per game has dropped significantly by more than half. I know it's not all down to him, but......
My vote will go to John Mousinho, he is a real leader and has been key to our great season.

And Mousinho for me. Often wonder if he also offers us a long term future manager

We have many who have put in good performances on a consistent basis but of those Mousinho has played a captains part and been the leader of the team which would get my vote.

I'd love to see it won by an attacking player for a change - so I think I will go with the hard working and pacy Beavon.

There have been ballots and ballot boxes in the bar areas for the past couple of games and should be there again on Monday. Or you can get them in the club shop and use the ballot box there.

Moose has been excellent but I am fairly sure he is currently on nine yellow cards for the season. (Most stats sites say eight but he also got booked at AFC Wimbledon earlier in the season which hasn't been picked up by the statisticians). One or two of his yellows have been rather silly eg at Tranmere when he kicked the ball off the penalty spot and got booked for dissent. By my calculations if he gets booked on Monday or next Saturday he will have a two game ban at a crucial part of the season when we need our captain. Not what I would expect from my skipper. Might just edge my vote in the direction of Beavon. I know he got sent off at Carlisle earlier in the season but Moose getting a suspension at this stage could ultimately cost us big time.

I'm going to abstain. I think that this is one of those seasons where several players have stood out and I cant choose between them.and those that haven't quite stood out have played their part in what is an exceptional team.

By my calculations if he gets booked on Monday or next Saturday he will have a two game ban I don't think that is quite right. Beavon has 6 cautions and one red card. Moose has 8 cautions in League and 1 in a Cup and they are combined for suspensions. These include vs Wimbledon here in Feb., I cannot find where he was booked at Wimbledon. If he was he would be serving a suspension vs Wycombe on Monday. That said, the FA website under Suspensions/One Card Away does not show anyone from Burton Albion being one card away. Maybe they are not working until Tuesday so yesterdays card hasn't been entered yet? If Moose gets another caution against Wycombe or Luton he will have to serve a one match ban due to 10 cautions before the 2nd Sunday in April. But if he has to to save a goal, sometimes it has to be done, and it wouldn't be so bad to have a rest against a weaker team like Luton right now or Carlisle, I'll forgive him.

The ban for ten yellow cards before the second Sunday in April is TWO games I think you will find. Moose was definitely carded at AFC Wimbledon back in September. I know because I was there and saw it for myself. The guy that was doing the Opta/PA stats that night had a terrible night and missed a lot of things, including Moose's yellow card. We shall see, hopefully he wont get carded in the next two games and it is an irrelevance. If he does however, my point is that at least a couple of those cards have been for silly things like kicking the ball away unnecessarily or dissent so a ban could have been so easily avoided. Back on point, Player Of The Year could go to any number of players this season but if I was a betting man I would say it will be either Moose or Bevs.

Does he only get two games if he also had one game suspension at 5 yellows?

Does he only get two games if he also had one game suspension at 5 yellows? Thats correct, otherwise it's one game. But he only had 3 cautions by Dec.31st, 4 if there was one at Wimbledon (but that one is not in the BBC Match Report, or the stats websites I looked at ??).

Wrong Peacock. The rules state that if you receive ten yellow cards by the second Sunday in April you receive a two match ban. That is irrespective of whether you have already served a one match ban for five yellow cards by the relevant date. It is right that Moose did not receive five before Christmas so either way it is a TWO match ban. Rules below as taken from the FA handbook.
8. PUNISHMENTS – Relating to First Team Competitive Matches (a) CAUTIONS ADMINISTERED ON THE FIELD OF PLAY (i) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and 31 December (including any FTCM played on that day) in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: -
One First Team Match
(ii) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: -
“Warned as to his Future Conduct”
(iii) A Player who has already been subject to disciplinary action as a result of receiving five cautions and then proceeds to receive a further five cautions during the same Season, will be subject to the following punishments: -
(iv) If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the second Sunday of April in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering:-
Two First Team matches
Edit: To add to this, a fellow supporter and very keen statistician on the Brewers who was also at Wimbledon concurs with me that Moose has been carded nine times, including that particular game.

Well, I'll be. You are almost right. You are Wrong about the 5 cautions deadline date for Non-Premier League teams (it's Nov.30th) and wrong about the 10 card=2game suspension (that's only if the player received a match ban for getting 5 before Nov.30th). I found the other info quoted on another website that I cannot find now, it had diagrams on it? But looking again at the handbook there are some different dates and punishments which I have highlighted.
8. PUNISHMENTS – Relating to First Team Competitive Matches (a) CAUTIONS ADMINISTERED ON THE FIELD OF PLAY (i) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and either one of the following dates in the same Playing Season, as applicable – • 31 December, for Players of FA Premier League Clubs only; or • 30 November, for Players of Football League, Football Conference National Division and FA WSL Clubs, (including in both cases any FTCM played on that day), he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: One First Team Match (ii) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES 2014-2015 373 “Warned as to his Future Conduct” (iii) A Player who has already been subject to disciplinary action as a result of receiving five cautions and then proceeds to receive a further five cautions during the same Season, will be subject to the following punishments: - (iv) If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the second Sunday of April in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering:- Two First Team matches If in the final match before the second Sunday of April a player accumulates his tenth caution in FTCM since the opening day of the Playing season and then receives a second caution in the same match and consequently is dismissed, the player will be suspended automatically for a period covering Two First Team Matches. This two match suspension will automatically apply in such cases, instead of the one match automatic suspension which would otherwise apply to a player who is sent off for receiving two cautions in the same match. (v) If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - “Severely Censured and Warned as to his future Conduct”
So if you get your 10th caution on the final game of the season you get a slap on the wrist?
