Wow...what a phenomenal turn around!
10 heroes, 11 dirty bastards and Tangoed monkey hanger Phil goes home with nothing. Enjoy your 3 hour trip home lads and go console yourselves with a pint of jellied eels!
Totally inept referee, giving a ridiculously soft penalty...if Corr falls over that easily he'd better be careful on Southend Pier or he'll get blown off.
Red card my arse...Wier doesn't have a bad bone in his body, just honest hard work. 50/50 at worst but their player acts poleaxed before running around like a spring lamb, laughing behind the referees back.
Nasty, cynical bunch who came to cheat and quite rightly lost in the end.
Proud of those lads and great support too.

Fantastic, one hell of a half time team talk, after a difficult first half. The ref made the game difficult at times.
As a supporter to leave the ground feeling ten feet high and proud to be a Brewer, after such a great performance seeing every player give their all....wow
There was even singing from the pop side towards the end of the game, so it must have been good!

Second best all over the pitch here, chaps. Being down to ten men for 45 minutes against a team that's dominated us isn't ideal to say the least. Bang on assessment Spence, but what a 2nd half performance!

The support from the fans in the second half was superb , best atmosphere at the Pirelli for a long , long time . Just goes to show when the fans feel we are getting the rough end of the stick with a lot of dodgy decisions they will back the players to the hilt .
And as been said in a previous post Southend got what the deserved .
By the way Jimmy has said they are looking at appealing the sending off .

Bang on assessment Spence, but what a 2nd half performance! I'll be the first to admit I'd written them off. We were second to everything and it looked like Southend were going to canter to a big win. What a transformation in the 2nd half though. It looked like they'd all drank 3 litres of Red Bull and had a firework shoved up their arses. By the way, Stuart Beavon's performance tonight was one of the finest I've ever had the privilege to witness from a Burton Albion player. What a footballer.

Spoke to Tom Naylor after the game and he said that John Mousinho gave a really rousing and inspirational speech to the lads at half time. Take nothing away from Jimmy and David but I think that Moose is proving to be an inspired choice as skipper, someone who can really lead this side. Could turn out to be one of the best signings we have made since joining the Football League.

He certainly put in a rousing and inspirational performance on the pitch - and this despite being on a yellow for most of the game. I was dreading him picking up another yellow or even a red and having to miss games. (seemed more than possible given the refs first-half performance)
I expect many will go for Bev as player of the season and he certainly comes a close second in my book but for me Moose at centre half has been instrumental in our low goals conceded and this, above all, is the reason why we've picked up so many points in the second half of the season, why we're top of the table today and why we might get promoted this season - so yes one of our best signings - no doubt.
Honorable mention for our keeper too - without his saves (two in the first half, including the penalty) we'd have got nothing from the game.....

I'd love to know hat was said if anything at half time. Were the team so wound up at the way everything had gone against them, that no chat was needed? Two enforced substitutions, a penalty, a goal conceded from a foul on the half way line, and a sending off. Did this all combine to motivate them, or did JFH and D.O gee them up to new levels? Please tell us Jimmy. The other thing that had bypassed me was that our two enforced subs, (both very unlucky not to be starting), were also the goal scorers. Whatever, they became The Magnificent Ten.

Think it's one of those games where the sending off really galvanised the team
Happens a lot

What a great performance last night. We had a poor 1st half but that said we could have been ahead at halftime. Don't knowhow Phil managed to sky that one over from 6 yards, and he a had a good header sail just over the bar.
But the second half was why we go to watch football. Fantastic first goal, brilliant 40 yard pass from Naylor to Akins who took it well and got it to Matty who scored another great goal with a pass into the net! (that should be on the goal of the season list). And Nasser, he had them on their heels every time he got the ball and what a goal.
Fantastic to see Akins back. He came over to the sidelines and a load of us popsiders gee'd him up and you could see the effect it had on him. He, Naylor, Matty, Shane, Damo, Phil, Jon were all impressive but Moose and Beavs were on another planet.
Well done you Brewers, well done you popsiders. People are starting to Believe!! COYB!

You will see my thoughts on what might have happened at half time. Never considered that. Well done Mouseinho.

I read that GR was at last night's game. I hope he's not thinking of giving Moose a chance of Championship football on a bigger wage at a bigger club. Is he on a one year or two year contract with us?
