Interesting tm, was the £10 at Eton for seats, terrace, standing on the sidelines? I don't know what Eton Park was like...did everyone pay the same price? Were kids free? Peacock I thought you had been a supporter for many years, once again the clubs history of games etc,is a figment of your very vivid imagination I am very pleased to be proved so right, that really your computer is how you see football. Here's me thinking you were there right from the lowly non league days! Quote I don't know what Eton Park was like! Laughable!

I still refer to the Albion end as the Brookend, in fact I'm not sure what its real name is. Classic Swaddy !

The deal is amazing. 11 quid a game? Astounding..
All the more reason why i get annoyed with those people who prefer to walk round town on A Saturday with their Chelsea/man u/ Liverpool top on, oblivious to the fact burton are even playing. And have props lh never stepped foot in a Prem ground in their life..instead watching Jeff Stelling on sky.

I'm taking three new fans tomorrow.
A Stoke fan, an Everton fan and an arsenal fan.
And I will make sure they return!

Cool, why was the home end called Brookend? There some good gates then! To be fair, I never made the link with the piddle of a stream behind the back of the terrace either, so never knew why it was called the Brookend either, I thought it must have been a proper stream near the allotments

Well, it's off topic but while we're telling footy stories....My first pro footy match was fall 1975, a Manchester derby. Hitch hiking around Europe I had one pair of footwear, hard-toed walking boots.Paid my 50p at the turnstiles and a steward stepped on my toes "Get Them Off" he barked. Stunned! Pardon? After a lengthy discussion, and support from some locals, that ended with showing him my passport he grudgingly let me in with my boots:). There was a chicken wire fence separating the two clubs supporters and a two hour scene that I could never have even made up. Missiles flying through the air to one side and soon after back the other way, coins tossed at the fans down below, police dragging bloody men out of the terraces! The game ended 2-2 I think but I only saw 2 goals, being so captivated by the goings on.

When you're tired and weary your heat may skip a beat you'll get your ******** heads kicked in as you walk down Sidney street You walk into the Brookend and hear a mighty roar **** off you (team we were playing) ******** and see the Albion score
Very unpolitically correct but a popular song in the early and mid 70's I'm sure some of you on here will remember it. It was in my early teens. I cringe when I think back about it and must admit to being mightily relieved times have changed !

In those days I was only a wee boy but I remember being in awe of the Brookend Boys who sang throughout the matches. My dad wouldn't let me stand near them though.
