Daily Record is coming up a lot - Striker Michael Antoine-Curier, who was freed by Hamilton Academical last month, has won a contract with English League Two outfit Burton Albion after a successful trial. (Daily Record, print edition)

I've done a bit of research on him
He had a bad four month spell in Kazakstan which involved the owner of the club promising him an apartment to live in then when he got there not letting him use it because he didn't realise he was black!
He also went to play in Malaysia and the owner of the club there was put in jail one week before the season started and he didn't get paid!
One interesting stat is that although he's had 20 odd clubs he claims to have scored in his first match for all of them.
From what I've found on the internet for every person who is glad to see him leave their club there is someone else who would like to see him sign for their club.
One guy at Hamilton says he's glad to see him go because although he's scored a few goals for them this season on chances created for him he should have scored twice as many
At this level at this stage of the season I believe he is a good short term gamble for us.
Not sure he can last long term at any club though. His interviews are all over the place. One minute he wants to stay in football, the next he wants to be a pilot.
He comes across as a bit crackers to be honest!!
Lol

According to the Albion twtter account 15 minutes ago. Jimmy is actively looking at the loan market for a replacement for Blyth. If so I think the reports must be wrong!!

I was about to say that the burton article saying we are looking for a loan just seemed like last week's story re-hashed

Well looks like he's signing til end of season.
I've read all sorts about him good and bad.
Worst case is he has a terrible attitude and we end up having to get rid before end of season.
Best case he's capable of scoring 10 goals plus between now and end of season.
I think it's an exciting and brave signing at same time and could be inspired.

Yeah but it was posted today. Anyway, this article seems to show his good side and attitude so lets hope it all works out for both sides. "I’m desperate to show people what I can do. All my life, I’ve felt I’ve had to prove myself. What happened in the past happened. “I can’t change that. But one thing I can do is prove people wrong." “If someone gives me a chance I’ll try to repay them." www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/accies-ace-mickael-antoine-curier-vows-4879833

...so does this mean two strikers then? I suppose we are very, very light in the striker department at the minute to be fair.

Hopefully JFH will get the best out of him should he sign. He could prove to be a tremendous signing

Yes deal done, he should be in good shape having been a regular for Accies this season. I reckon we will see JFH get the best out of him. could turn out to be the missing link in the squad.

As the story says with blyth injured we could take another loan and have 6 but only pick 5 in the squad

Apparently could have signed for Cagliari in Serie A
I think however long he is with us we will be hearing outlandish stories about Curier
Mainly coming from him. A few months ago he told Hamilton fans he wanted to make it big in the English Premier League
I don't think confidence will be an issue with MAC as he is known
I think he has believed he is better than he is all his career tbh and it probably explains the fact he doesn't stay at clubs very long
It is what it is
He's 32 in March - if he does want to make it big in EPL then he needs to absolutely destroy this League between now and the end of the season
He's only signed til end of season with us so I guess it's his chance to show bigger English clubs how good he is
If he does well then don't be surprised if it's a short visit
I won't be complaining if he helps us get promoted though
