Oh dear, we weren't very good tonight. Not sure why Lenihan didn't play, I presume he picked up a knock at training today or at Cheltenham on Saturday and my how we missed him, no one was able to come and make themselves available for the ball from the back four or demand the ball, we also missed his competitiveness in that midfield. Wimbledon came to play exactly as I expected them to and we ended up playing their game instead of our. Thankfully results went well for us elsewhere apart from Shrewsbury scoring twice in injury time to win at Carlisle. I think we were due an off day and the disruption to the line up of two players didn't help, at least we got a point.

Poor game. Not many positives. The new lads all did ok but nothing more for me. I thought akins was poor tonight. Beavon worked hard as usual.
Didn't see what the player did to get sent off. I assume it was an elbow to the face or something?
Need a win saturday now.

A poor night tonight but we still got a point, the best thing for me was the couple of pints in the Robin hood after the match .

I wasn't there but judging by the Brewers Player commentary it appears that this was 2 points dropped.

...we had an almost completely different midfield tonight, except for Robbie, then we've had in recent games. Akins coming back in off an injury, Lenny out., Gurks being asked to push forward. And 2 new lads, Calero and Naylor, neither of whom proved anything for me yet. yes, they both had their moments tonight with a good touch or clearance, but I think they need time to settle into this squad! Right now we are missing Lenny, Macca, Matty, and Maynard. Hopefully, Lenihan is fit for Sat.... As for tonight I thought both Moose and Beavs were absolutely immense for us and either could have been MOTM! (moose got it). Perhaps the wages free'd up from Belly and Sharps moving on will allow us to sign a striker to replace Blyth. COYB! edit: McLaughlin had 2 shots but can't recall him making a save? He had a few foibles tonight though, worst game in awhile.

A frustrating night. Played a lot of direct balls forward but at too slow a tempo with not enough width. Beavon worked hard, McGurk looked lively at beginning of both halves but that's it. The midfield didn't create nearly enough, their keeper was untroubled. Even when Wimbledon had 10 men, they looked the more likely side to score on the counter through Azeez. Too many hopeful passes, not enough penetration.

One of those days/nights I think. Didn't play very well (as has been said already) but if they all played to the top end of their abilities every week then they wouldn't be playing for Burton Albion in the 4th division. Just so happens that most had an "off day" apart from Weir and Beavon and I also think Naylor looked pretty solid if not spectacular. He's 100% a defensive player all day long and you could see the sheer panic in his eyes whenever he got over the half way line. Almost an "anti-Lenihan" who, by the way was sorely missed along with Blyth. Calero didn't really get into the game but when he did was neat and tidy, misplaced a few passes but showed a lot of composure and put a delicious little pass on a plate for McGurk in the second half who unfortunately scuffed it. I said at the time that was the big chance we needed and I was right.
Like Brewster says there is potential there in Nasser and I think a case could be made for him to a) start on Saturday and b) change the formation. Three up top? Akins and Beavon either side of Nasser?
Oh, and I think the red card was for a stamp on Beavon. I didn't see it either but Zander Diamond got sent off for something that absolutely no-one (including the referee) saw in a game at their place a few years ago so f**k 'em...it's a nice little bit of karma for a very dirty, cynical team. You could tell what the mentality is behind that club when their keeper is celebrating getting a point like they'd won the league.

I agree with giving Nasser a start he wanted the ball constantly and as soon as he could was looking for the shot, think Calero was muscled out of it a bit but did see some skill there once he settled down! They were definitely playing for the point as soon as they went down to 10.

Calero was quite weak and timid, don't think he knows how to tackle...

Noticed that Robbie Weir was voted the supporters Man Of The Match for last night. Can't disagree with that. I'm a big fan of Mousinho and think that he's possibly one of the best in the division in that position but I think the sponsors were looking the other way for 90 minutes last night. Thought him and Taft struggled and wouldn't be surprised if Cansdell-Sherriff came back in on Saturday.

I agree about Moose I thought it was his poorest performance at CH I have seen from him, mind he has set high standards. A number if time we were ripped between him and Edwards and I also thought his distribution was not as good as it usually is.

Its amazing how people see things differently, I thought Moose did an amazing job against the most awkward striker in the league, in fact I would go as far as to say he totally nullified Akinfewa's considerable presence.

Another clean sheet against a difficult forward line & people still moaning , shows how far we have come in the last 2 seasons I suppose

Agree Swaddy, sometimes we do, thought Akinfenwa was very handy and was really disappointed how often he was allowed to chest the ball down without barely a challenge. Still, he didn't score or create a goal either.

The best way to deal with Akinfenwa is to comment upon his tiny cock and balls.

Swaddy, I said pretty much the same thing in my post. Moose was outstanding again last night and took The Beast out of his game. I was also quite surprised at how well Tafty did, he made a few great plays, but I had thought he may have been a bit overwhelmed by the big guy.
