Another hard fought 1-0 win, founded in character, hard work, graft and a bit of skill. Reminds me of something :-)

By crikey they had to dig in and fight for it today. Not particularly easy to watch but they really earned that.
Once again Blyth got absolutely sod all from the ref despite being practically molested all afternoon by that dirty little shite El-Abd. Admittedly Blyth didn't have the best of games but to be honest I think quite a few had an off day today. Excellent save from McLaughlin at the end to keep the three points at the Pirelli.
The points column keeps ticking over and the games are running out. Lovely stuff. We really need a bit more firepower though. I'm sure I've heard that somewhere before!

Not the greatest game but a hard earned 3 points on the board when we havn't been at our best. A good recipe for success. Bury didn't threaten our goal too much even when they were on top at the start of the 2nd half, McLaughlin's handling was excellent throughout. Thought man of the match should have gone to Edwards, Lenihan or Moushino not Weir. Blyth had an awful game even considering the ref gave him nothing. He's a big lad but needs to learn how to use it. If we can partner up Beavon we can win this league this season !

All good comments above and I can't add anything other than, well done lads, a job well done and good support too.
Minor negative was the idiots spouting crap at Hussey who never did anything to deserve it?

I would imagine that will be the line up, the bench will be interesting today, I really hope McGurk grabs this opportunity, repeating what I heard about him last week, class in constant, form temporary. Not quite sure of who will be on there, would expect Tom Naylor and possibly El Khayati to feature and probably Camsdell-Sherriff but reckon injuries may dictate the rest. We got well worked over up at Gigg lane and it would be nice to record our first victory over them. I'm expecting a really tough game. I met Danny Nardiello many years ago when he was on the books of Manchester United, he seemed impressed I could remember his dad Don playing on the wing for Coventry City ! Blimey that makes me feel old ! I remember his sister Danielle from "This Life"

Wouldn't it be great if the manager could somehow turn the clock back 15 years and put his shooting boots on to fire us to promotion.

Just annoying that we can't seem to shake teams below us off.
I'm glad to see Newport lose again but now Southend are putting results together
I'm not bothered about top 3 it's fourth place I keep looking at and with the run of results we have put together I feel we deserve to be more than 4 points clear of automatic by noW
It's never easy is it?

I know what you mean, that top place keeps eluding us doesn't it? If we keep up our record of winning at home and drawing away (4 points every 2 games) since Jimmy and David took over we should be OK for the top 3. I don't think any club will pull away from the rest and sew up promotion early.

I can really see Luton and Shrewsbury stepping up and pulling away now. They'll be 1st and 2nd for me.

We have never beaten Bury, so was never going to be an easy game.
'The win was the home side's first in either league or cup against Bury, with five defeats and three draws from eight previous meetings.'
JFH "We were very solid and gave nothing away and I think overall the whole game is a deserved win." "At times you know you have to dig in as a team and you have to play from your organisation, get back into your organisation and don't get beat." "We were solid, we were organised and we were willing to work hard for each other and that is important."
I Wasn't at the game but it seems we had a great team performance. Sounds like Jimmy has got it figured out, and he is getting the best out of the players that they have to give him!

Not the most entertaining game I have ever seen but to nick 3 points when you are not at your best is the way promotions are gained, for me as others have said, we need a quality striker to play alongside Bev, if JFH can pull one out of the hat (unless he already has with Nasser) we will be there or thereabouts come season end.

I'm being realistic on the basis of Luton and Shrewsbury having, in my opinion, more depth and quality in their squads, more financial clout in terms of getting players in if they need them and the ability to draw in bigger and more partisan crowds in the bigger games which gives the players that extra lift. When we lost 7-1 to Port Vale, as bad as we were on that night, the fact that Vale Park was sold out and was absolutely bouncing gave their players a lift like I've never seen before. Kenilworth Road is the same sort of place. It's my opinion. It has nothing to do with the support that I give the club that represents the town where I was born and where I've lived all my life. I support the club unconditionally regardless of who is in charge and whoever is wearing that Burton Albion shirt.

Says it all not present at the game, but same old rubbish comments continue on every thread on this forum. You must sit behind your PC with your collection bucket on your head thinking your really at the game. Anybody in doubt just go to the York game thread and have a good read!
