Ok, so Gary so far has made a few signings and the squad is beginning to take a bit of shape. This is what we've got so far...
GOALKEEPERS
Ross Atkins Dean Lyness
DEFENDERS
Aaron Webster Nathan Stanton Zander Diamond Andy Corbett Marcus Holness Damien McCrory
MIDFIELDERS
John McGrath Robbie Weir Chris Palmer Cleveland Taylor Jacques Maghoma Jimmy Phillips Jack Dyer
STRIKERS
Calvin Zola Justin Richards Billy Kee Adi Yussuf Evan Garnett
I've taken that lot off the official site and it has Atkins and Lyness as Brewers for this season so that's what I'm going with.
Personally I'd really like to see Lee Bell and one of the right backs who were trialists on Saturday sign up, but I still think we're lacking height and a bit of a presence in midfield. Would that give us too many players? Do we possibly have too many wingers as well?
So...your thoughts? Have you got a first 11 you'd be happy with out of that lot? Do you think we need to strengthen more in a certain area?

Have Atkins & Lyness actually signed? I haven't heard anything for a while.

Derby's website has Atkins down as on loan with us and Kidderminster haven't got him down on their squad list anymore. I'm guessing they've signed with us as they're both on our squad list with the other new signings.

The right back (Central Defender 2nd half) was Anthony O'Connor from Blackburn, a possible season long loan I'd guess. I'd like to see Lee Bell too.

Thanks for posting that, it is interesting that after what was often perceived to be a slow summer, we are not really far off a full squad. Lee Bell I think would be a good addition, and after that I think we may be there. But what will the starting line up be on 18 August?
I'll go for:
Atkins Stanton (RB) Diamond Holness Webster Taylor Weir Dyer (although if Bell signs...) Maghoma Richards Zola
Assuming Billy Kee will not be ready

Looks a nice squad so far. And the defence on paper looks much improved to me.
I think adding Lee Bell, one of the right backs to compete with Corbs, and maybe an extra striker, even if it is a loan to freshen things up in that position.
Although there is still time for Rowett to look at other players who may become available over the next few weeks.

We have a decent squad shaping up. Would have liked to have seen an experienced keeper come in but have faith in Ross to improve especially now he has competition for his shirt. Can't wait to see Robbie Weir play and would of thought he and possibly Bell (if we sign him) would make a good combination in central midfield. Really hoping that we see more from our wingers this season as most were poor last time around for whatever reason, but we know the likes of Taylor and Mags have quality its just seeing it a bit more often that's required.

We're still clearly a right-back and probably a centre back short. I'd like to see another striker in there too because Yussuf lacks experience, Richards looks way off the mark and Billy Kee's long term injury is a concern. The squad is shaping up but the one area I have major concerns is on the wings - Taylor and Maghoma were largely innocuous all lat season and Palmer always looked more comfortable in the middle. Perhaps G himself is the answer on the left?

Right back, another winger/centre mid and centre half should see us about right. I think it'll be a difficult opening to the season.

I'm happy with the squad so far, Gary seems to be doing the business in the right manner, no panic buys! It'll be good to see them in action over the next few weeks, I'm actually really looking forward to the start of the season.
