I thought in the interview Patto said that we'd offered him a 70% increase.
So if he was on say a £1000 a week we've offered him £1700 a week (simple maths!) and probably a longer deal too. Who knows though he could've already been on more than that.
In all honesty, despite him scoring a few goals for us, it might not necessarily be a bad thing freeing up some additional wages for these last few days of the window. He won't be a big loss.

From the RD interview, I was under the same impression, that we'd offered him 70% more, he'd stalled, and asked for today off to think about it, and MP has told him to do one.

Good for Martin - can’t be held to ransom.

Or say if he was on £400 a week and we were offering him £680 a week, the picture is different. I have no skin in this game.

Unless I misheard I think MP also said that the new offer would have made him amongst the best paid players.

I have no problem with that. Maybe he said he was offski and didn't want to risk injury. If so, I assume we will be fining him the last two weeks of his wages.

A few whispers Wycombe are interested in him, but I've seen nothing concrete.

The lad can't say more than that... He could say a lot more - he could just keep on saying things after this point and that would be saying more than that. I don't care what he has to say, he's made his decision, he didn't offer much anyway, very easily replaceable, there are many players as good as him who are looking for work. Not bothered. And neither is he.

Personally would rather have kept him even though he isn't a world beater. At the end of the day he is our top scorer and has got us some critical goals that have won points. MP gave a more detailed story of what had happened later in the week than we normally get and clearly doesn't paint Bez in a good light and hence some abuse he has suffered on line over the weekend. Refusing to play is never a good look for any footballer and it's not right but I guess there are times in players careers where their stock is at its highest and this time is probably it in Bez's modest career so far. Will be interesting to see where he pitches up. Was bought up in Leicester having been born in DR Congo but has laterly played down south so he could end up anywhere in L1 & L2 I guess. Will probably be looking for a 2 and a half year contract from someone on more money than he is on now and i'm sure someone will take a chance on him. We definitely need a replacement now and could do with an older head(mid 20's or so) rather than another untried youngester just to give some balance.

Someone 30+ I’d say Annable - someone who knows the game and where the net is. A Jordan Rhodes/Sam Winnall type.
