I see he has a mystery "illness" which has kept him out today. I hope it is not the "don't play just before a transfer window because he has been sold" illness? Given his form this season I can see he would have some value and wouldnt be overly surprised if someone has come in for him. Hope it is just the flu or something though 😀

What's wrong with him? Is there a risk of it spreading through the squad. The last thing we need at the moment is more team members being struck down with the mystery illness

Nothing contagious. No conspiracy about January moves. Should be back on the squad at Bolton.

What intrigue and this days before the transfer window, should he stay or should he go for a fee or better wages letting a contract run out, you can be sure the club will have little say on events, and new players will arrive at the end of January when no where else to go,and once more Nigel feeds of scraps. And we move on battling the odds, nothing new

I have to say the coverage of the match today has added to my suspicion that wallace is about to be sold or has had his head turned. Not in the squad, no update on his illness, no mention at all until the post match interview. It went something along the line of.....
BBC derby - Wallace has been out for a couple of games, how important is it you keep hold of players like him in January.
Clough - wallace is contracted until the end of the season.
That was it, no update on his illness, no comment on how we have missed him... Just the standard line when you don't want to talk about his future.
I hope it is just a nasty bout of flu....

Wallace has been a good find considering he was playing at Matlock before joining us and he’s no doubt been one of our better players this season but is there really going to be clubs higher than us looking at him?

Have to agree with CC. The interview was NC at his best. Clear, honest and straight to the point.
The interview had run out of steam. The RD guy offered a pointless question, already covered and NC gave as CC said a standard stock answer.

NC has been around the block too many times and will remember his dad saying: "Contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on" That's not suggesting anything untoward with Wallace but just the fact that there will no doubt be some ins and outs in January and no doubt NC will do his best he can as always for the club to come out of it in front one way or another NC and Simon will have their own targets up their sleeve if needed

As well as he has done for us I can't see anybody paying a fee for Wallace and I think this is a bit of a non story. Wallace comes across as somebody who will be one of those who will be loyal to Nigel throughout his career and I can see him being offered a contract for another season before the months out.

As I said in my original responses, a non-story and as Ash from the media team has replied to a similar post on Bookface - Kieran has been ill. Was expected to be well enough to be a part of the squad yesterday but ultimately hadn’t recovered enough to be considered.
Didn’t hear NC’s interview yesterday as I was filing my report but as Colston has said, sometimes the interviews are unnecessarily dragged out and that is when Nigel’s answers tend to get shorter!

As time goes by my suspicions about Wallace are not going away. Something is not quite right - a vague "illness" which has kept him out for almost 3 weeks.
I think his head has been turned by the prospect of a pay rise. Clough even said this week we have had interest in a few players. I fear Wallace is one.

Nigel said in his preview on Friday that Kieran is back in training but is struggling as he feels sick when he trains.
He was there again today and he was chatting about doing a Community visit this week that he has been lined up for.
I honestly don’t think there is anything to see here. I might be wrong of course, but based on what I know the illness has been genuine.

Well all I can say is, you keep winding yourself up with your conspiracy theory and I’ll sit here safe in the knowledge that he has been/is still suffering the effects of an illness. Sometimes these things are personal and not for public consumption.

Sometimes these things are personal and not for public consumption. No conspiracy and I am not wound up about it. Just stating the fact that until now he has just been "ill" for 3 weeks. You are now providing more detail as to what the illness may be, something that the club and anyone associated with it has failed to do.

Well you seem to be the only one speculating that something is amiss and won’t let it go. I haven’t provided any more detail. The manager did that in his preview/ injury round up in the days before the game. I don’t know the exact nature of the illness and didn’t feel the need to ask Kieran about it when I saw him pre-match today.i am sure there is a good reason why more details have not been released.
Now please. Leave it there.

I wasn’t quite close enough but when he was on the bench against Tranmere it looked like he had some sort of bandage/tape on his face but not 100% sure on that.
