Two days late but here goes. Yes, it was dreadful. But. My take on it was this - I don't think anyone had a particularly 'bad' game. I just saw 10 VERY tired players out there. Even Lucas wasn't his usual self. Yes - if Liam had scored instead of hit the bar, different game. It's only the cup. Interesting to see lots of very new people on here with very negative views. One last semi-silly thought; I hope Joe Sbarra watched the first half very closely because then he will have seen a very small player completely boss a game against opposition from a higher league. Take a bow Sam Hoskins. To be fair, four or five them had blinders. New people or old/infamous ones with new names?

I think they're all Nora in disguise trying to stir up a bit of controversy. I mean she hasn't been seen since her last cruise.

It stands out because it seems some only comment when we have a bad result.

When we lose a important game to so called inferior team their is a sens of failure and disappointment and a reflection of were it went wrong. On winning a game satisfaction and a sense of all went well. the team did good, and any mistakes forgot [just a blip] A win and the feeling is delight and you are on a high. A loss means no interest in football and a cloud hangs over you, and you look for answers, and mistakes are not forgot but are analysed and talked about. So i can see why looking for answers in defeat helps come to terms with it. Couple of days later our interest in football returns, and we move on

There are, across all of the social media platforms, this site included some posters who take every opportunity to knock the club, the manager, individual players as soon as there is either a defeat or something go wrong.
The other week we lost 2-0 away to the team currently top of the League. No sooner had the final whistle had gone than there were calls for the manager's head as it wasn't good enough losing to the team ahead of everyone else at the time. That is despite the fact that we were the better team for much of the game but just didn't get the goals our play warranted.
Where are those people when we secure notable victories at places like Sunderland or over Christmas when we win three games out of four? They crawl back under their stone waiting for the next chance to criticise and send everyone else into meltdown. Win a game and its a very quiet Saturday night on social media as a rule.
We are not the only club that has this issue and it is symptomatic of an age where the platform to be able to criticise without any comeback is so easily accessible. It's sad and it's pathetic but it is the social media age we now inhabit.

I read yesterday the winners of Shrewsbury v Bristol city (replay) welcome Liverpool which is to be televised, so whoever it is gets £150k broadcast fees plus if they win get £180k. So it'll be the same for the Cobblers I guess.

We all knew this game was important for the club, so losing 4-1 going into injury time, certainly sent shock waves amongst the fans. This will go down as one of the worst results of the season, or a massive wake up call. Sat is also a big game, away end closed.
