Battery? Is he our new signing - hopefully he can power us to victory 😀😀 Playing alongside J.J. O'Toole.....what a centre back pairing....Assault and Battery......(I'll get mi coat) Bloody auto correct. To be fair looking through my text vocabulary it could have been much worse.

Well, they've played a little bit of Nightwish pre match, my favourite band but incredibly niche for a football game 😂

Half Time. I've seen us less outclassed in the Championship. Little Northampton Town on their big day out at League One Burton.
Funny how going 1-0 down in ten minutes doesn't annoy me anymore; I'm so used to it.
Thankyou to Ryan Edwards cos otherwise I'd be tempted to leave now. I've only paid half the usual price.
Prediction. Brewers to win 5-4.
PS Hoping to see Battery charge down the wing.

Another horror show. If Boyce & Fraser go we could well end up putting the bench up for sale as well.

150 grand down the tubes. Shocking performance.
Need fresh faces in the window or we will meander towards a 17th place finish.

Defenders have to be a priority in the window. It was easily torn apart today, particularly from corners

censored.word disgraceful. I don't even know where to start, Kieran was poor in goal, the back four were dreadful.
We made chances but as always, wasted them.

Cobblers no5, Goode, kept Boyce in his pocket all game. THAT’S how to defend . However, we’re becoming very predictable on the attack, any team doing their homework (scouting) would know what to expect.

We got bullied out of the game in the first half we had no way to defend against booming long balls into the box. Northampton had a game plan and did us over.
We had a chance or two at the start of the 2nd half but couldn’t take them
Northampton a cut above some of the other teams we’ve met recently

I'll just add, up in the air 1st half, Northampton loved that. 2nd half we kept it on the deck and played much better but the game was lost by then. Did we scout these, guessing not?
Noticed NC wasn't involved much and left it to AG to do the honours, let's hope he's back Sat barking the orders from the tech area.
First time I've left early, couple of mins, missed a goal😥

Unfortunately a small squad leads to results like this. Can’t blame Mr Clough for the lack of money to finance players wages. But the defence needs new players,if Boyce and Fraser need to be sold, then do it quickly. No more on loan players who hardly ever play,or not seem to care, because Burton Albion is not their parent club. No more ex Derby County players, on a downward spiral, just because they played for Burton in the past. As for the bench warmers some need to go. On the bright side still not far off the playoffs. But things need to be done to stop the defence giving goals away.

I do wonder sometimes what's said to players pre match. Not just our team but we've seen it time and time again, underdogs or lower league teams come good against higher opposition. Some play weakened teams, yep I can understand those results but we didn't and got thumped, it's the only word I can describe today's display.
Nevertheless, excellent Bass at SSC and an hot dog from the van.

Too old, too knackered. Small squad comes home to roost. What's with 2 goalkeepers on the bench?.

We haven't had much to be disappointed about in the last ten years but today was definitely a massive, massive disappointment and one that is likely to have serious repercussions in the next few weeks and this was acknowledged by Nigel in his after match interview.
Northampton really exposed our weaknesses today and showed more desire than us to win the ball, stop crosses and put their bodies on the line all over the pitch. This was clearly exposed in all of the goals. It has to be said that Buxton and Brayford looked passed it today certainly against opposition who operate the sort of tactics we saw today and I don't think Nartey new what had hit him and won nothing in the air. As for Daniel he is a poor out and out defender which is why he has had numerous clubs throughout his career and was embarrassed at times today. Interesting that Nigel singled out Lucas for some direct criticism today and said that lots of goals are scored by the man he should be marking.
Fair play to Northampton and especially the centre back Goode who I thought was immense and played Boyce as well as anybody we've seen. The rest of our players flattered to deceive in what was a humbling experience.
The FA Cup is great for surprise results and we were on the end of one today big time in what was at times embarrassing which is not a word I use often to describe the Brewers. Difficult few weeks ahead now I suspect.

A hugely, disappointing afternoon for many reasons. Financially a big loss to us as well as NC said on the radio.
There haven’t been too many over the years and you just have to get on with it, you really do. We have had some great cup runs, made a lot of money but this one went against us and deservedly so.
Sadly it brings the moaners, knives and trolls out; one or two here and on an adjacent thread.
Don’t lets lose sight of the fact we sit alongside Sunderland, Blackpool and Portsmouth in Division 1, a game in hand and 3 pts off the play offs.
I thought on paper we looked strong. Temps, Boyce and Lucas up front on its day a handful. A fully fit midfield. Possibly our best side even though we know there are issues at the back. Brayf continues to play through injury. The left back position remains unresolved but on recent games you’d probably pick Daniel just. I would have brought JJT straight back in probably for Narety given their big lads up front but equally Bucko has been playing through a rib injury for a long time now. So no that was perhaps only one change short of my best side IMO.
We had our usual first half hour of possession football sitting in their third of the pitch and even stronger for 30 minutes in the 2nd half but we don’t always turn that obvious pressure into goals. I do agree with Annable teams have worked us out, maybe? It was attack after attack 2nd half but no end product. Just when you sat there thinking if only we can get a goal we’ll probably get two they went and scored ! It looked too easy and was. Just as Boxing Day was brilliant today wasn’t. Before you know it we’ll have trounced Fleetwood and we’ll be in the top 6.

Trying to put a positive on an awful result
We can now put more into getting into playoffs and promotion
Lots of clubs today playing reserve players to rest first team and not risk any injuries to disrupt them in the league. We couldn't afford to do that. Now we don't have to do it. We have no choice to make.
We lost money today. It may or may not impact our ability to retain squad members. But we now have one less distraction from playoffs.
Like I say. Trying to be positive.
