So much for Olympic legacy. Flatten an athletics stadium and blame the government. What a sickening piece of political posturing.

Saw the 1-0 victory there last season. Awful stadium for football.

On one of our trips to the Don Valley stadium I purchased a Rotherham mug- I collect football mugs which I then re-arrange each week in League order- must post a pic one day. i made the mistake of buying it before the match. The steward said I couldn't take it into the stadium and wanted to take it from me on the basis that I might throw it at someone. i gave him a look and said that I had just spent £5.99 on it and would not waste my money by throwing it at anyone and if he thought that I would be able to project it as far as any players then he had a better opinion of my 'arm' than i did. I don't think an olympic discus thrower would have managed to reach the pitch. The mug and I went in... My other memory of it was after parking up at a pub for a pre match drink we walked to the ground- along a road which was frequented by ladies just standing idly around gazing at the traffic with a rather friendly smile Whereas some in our party realised what the situation was I was left thinking that if they did not get a move on then they would miss the kick off. And as far as their new stadium is concerned- those who went to the New York Stadium must, like us ,have had a little giggle when at a roundabout approaching the ground there was a sex shop- granted it was closed but the banner in the window proclaimed that it was "coming soon".
