The Posh - sitting in 4th place on 28 points from 17 games (goal difference +16) (Brewers 15th on 20 points from 14 games g.d. +3) Tough test....I'm anxiously waiting on Fraser's fitness report...I'll settle for a point....again....

A chance to visit the Weston Homes Stadium capacity 15-314, this name should last for 10 years, who ever pays up front gets the naming rights,London road Stadium= Abax Stadium==like a lot of clubs just looking for sponsorship. with a average gate of 8-078 ,looking to get at least playoffs sitting 4th as everard says. A lot of talk at the moment about Ivan Toney and a 13 million price tag, we wont see him he is suspended, could be lucky for us, according to sources around league 1 they carry a lot of fire power in their attack=Elsa=Dembele=Maddison =Boyd=and a new 17 year old Ricky Jade Jones, on paper their squad apart from Toney, pretty much similar to ours, Much is expected of them, and the owner Darren MacAnthony says they are not a selling club. Always a hard team to beat on their own patch. 2nd game in 4 days not sure of the injury situation, Burton are carrying a reputation, and to beat them is a scalp, so teams are motivated. It was stated that if they play like on tues, Burton would annihilate them. But of coarse a total change in midfield for them expected. here goes coming away with a draw would be a good result [ no res bite Sunderland away on tues ] back to the old cliche one game at a time

2 very difficult away games in 4 days. We will do well to get anything from them but that's what we often do, get results against the odds. COYB.

We will either lose this 3-1 or win 3-1.

That just about sums up our season and how we are at the moment. Just look at the stats of that game but it all counts for nothing if you can't score and they can put one in from 30 yards. Mid table at best I'm afraid.

Such a lot of hard work went in to this game, only spoilt with that late goal, ah well we move on to Tuesday.
In other news, Accy 7 Bolton 1 so that brightens things up a little.

Another injury time loss.
Imagine without injury time we'd be doing substantially better... Ffs. It's annoying.

Yes very annoying but the reason this happens is because we cannot put teams away. It doesn't matter how good a team we are and I do think we are a very good league one side . If you don't score goals you are always in a vulnerable position. I've said it all season I think we have a great set of lads but it's clear we lack quality in the final third. Probably the most gutted I've felt after a game this season.

I feel gutted too, 52% possession against the 4th in the league, 11 shots to 9, in control for most of the game, playing some good football - then wham and a worldy goes in the top right corner like a bullet. O’Hara no chance after being immaculate all game. A totally undeserved loss....again.

It’s a shame the injury time thing... but a rather marvellous side effect is that we’re the only team in the 92 91 that has a record of W5 D5 L5 and I for one will drink to that! COYB, here’s to our uniquely mixed bag!

Frustrating, irritating, annoying, disappointing……………on the way back in the car you go through all the emotions. What would you do as a manager? Why can’t we see out games? Why can’t we nick games off other teams?
Certainly Colston hits on a point re our stop start to the season. Losing the Bury, Bolton fixtures, the cup runs, the international breaks, none have helped continuity. We sit 3 games behind others, possibly home fixtures, and we’re looking over our shoulders already which will soon create pressure we don’t deserve.
The team is never really settled. We have to operate on a small squad. If the left back is injured for example we tend to rotate Akins, Wallace etc and change other areas rather than bring in like for like. Beyond our control? Probably.
We all know we’re watching a decent side capable of getting there but perhaps we lack a bit in experience and leadership which is why I’d always have Bucko in whenever possible. Perhaps we can use the Jan window?
We certainly don’t have a player that can hit a screamer like yesterday or the lad at Salford the other week; that can win you a couple of games a season.
I think the conclusion in the car was there are no solutions and we are where we are which at the end of the day is I suppose fine.
I just wish or wonder if we could find the resources to find that “fox in the box”. We took a financial risk on Daryl Clare some years ago and it took the whole club up a gear. Against the odds or in a nothing stalemate of a game he’d nick you a goal, again and again. Come on Boycey?!

Agree with some of what insideleft says here, more with the sentiment than the detail. Thing is, we do have someone who comes up with spectacular goals... Templeton has done it with great shots against Doncaster and Mansfield, they just weren't winners. He did get the winner against Wimbledon. Two of Fraser's three in the win against Oxford were from distance and Sarkic banged one in from distance against MK... so it does happen. I'ma great believer in things evening themselves out over a period of time... just have fingers crossed that they will.
I know we've lost points conceding late against Portsmouth, Tranmere and now Peterborough... but we also won scoring late against Bristol Rovers. Need a few more of those

To be honest when Templeton exited on 60, my thoughts were ‘that’s the chance of winning the game gone’. Broadhead his replacement had to go off himself shortly after and Sarkic limped off as ‘walking wounded’. But I firmly believed that a point was the minimum we deserved and it was cruel to have that snatched away.

Totally disappointed with the result.gutted with the rest of you, once more missed chances, the first object hit the target we huff and puff run our socks off and come away with nothing, Heart breaking for all concerned, A well run club with money always finds its way to the top of the tree.and quality should always come through. Boyce is the quality we have stretched to, well over £400 thousand pounds. a international 20 goal striker, our fox in the box. Only a last resort in the Ireland team, and cant get into the team after being well rested while on International duty, should strike panic in our opponents in league 1 I think he needs to move back to basics, for his career and the Brewers,We are a nearly team, and he should make the difference. playing on the front foot is risky Peski found that out, and putting a yellow brick wall up brought the success we have. Every club respects us and thats nice, but then to many are taking points off us. lack of funds make life hard, having a small squad makes it hard, and me moaning about about a loss away at 4th place Peterborough to a freak goal, shows how hard it can be, Sunderland=Oldham away does not get easier, so close we need Jan for re tuning the squad.4 points off 12th needs addressing , 9 points off top 6 the clubs above us are stretching the gap, cannot rely on games in hand. A good all round team performance with lack of fire power when mattered

I won't be posting much for a while.
It's NOT the defence that is the issue. The yellow brick wall isn't doing too badly at all.
We sit in 5th out of 23 teams for number or clean sheets.
We sit in 6th out of 23 teams for number of goals conceded
We sit in 1st out of 23 teams for goals per game and total goals conceded at home.
Compare that to
We sit in 15th out of 23 teams for goals scored.
We sit in 23rd out of 23 teams for goals scored at home.
We sit in 6th for number of goals per game away from home.
The issue is both a lack of goals at home despite dominating and the number of games we've played at home. 6 when a lot of teams above us have played 9 or 10.
I've always ALWAYS defended our players but Boyce hasn't worked as a goal scorer and as exciting as Broadhead, Sarkic and even Scott Fraser are. They've been guilty of missing some incredible chances and that needs to change quickly.
We could do with a point tomorrow but I've got a feeling they'll be massively up for it as Parkinson is already under pressure.
They are one of the least creative teams in the league when it comes to shots on target. Fingers crossed it stays that way tomorrow.

To be fair we must also be 23/23 games played at home?
