A good performance. Good result. Good goals. 36k in the coffers I think. Ref poor. We weren’t as good as we can be but it was good enough to beat them and in the end quite comfortable. Glad we got the fixture out of the way with 5 games coming up in a fortnight and difficult ones too. Looked to me like one or two were playing through injuries last night and equally one or two could probably do with a rest unfortunately we lost Fraser and it didn’t look good. The squad is at its limit. I have to say Temps is playing well and looking fit; on current form one of the first names on the team sheet for me. His goal was a gem. As a footnote. What has happened to the FA Cup? 17 years ago as a little Unibond club we got to the first round of the FA Cup and brought Oldham Athletic back to a dilapidated old Eton Park for a Tuesday night replay. 3400 packed in the ground that night. Last night, established EFL club, new stadium, 2 sides of the ground closed, same scenario, attracted 1475. Quite simply too much of it on TV now. It was quite easy for me to stay at home and watch footy on TV last night with a £1 bottle of Bass from Asda and a bag of nuts. Glad I didn't, the superb pint of Bass at the SCC and a live real game despite the cold warmed the cockles a treat.

Totally agree Broomo. Brilliantly articulated. I sometimes ponder what it must be like to support someone like Everton or West Ham. They do have the money, they do invest in big name players, they do attract players, they do have the stadium, they do have the fan base, they do play in packed stadiums. All for what? Also rans. Making up the numbers. Trying to be the best of the rest. That can't be that much fun. To cut off the obvious responses, I know you can't help who you support and you have to take the rough with the smooth. Their are many more also rans than winners due to the limited trophy's, but you feel part of a community and the stadium is your focal point, and the other fans, are just a few visitors. A place where you can watch the top professionals apply their trade, it is a place all clubs aspire to be,and fans know one year could be a very good year with a trophy. Ask anyone it is nice to be at the top level. and all clubs need finances and fans,

A joy to watch when he plays like that. Looked effective too in a more central position earlier in the match before switching to the left and got the goal his performance deserved. Shout out to Bucko who I thought was excellent, just his type of game against the physical / aerial threat of Salford. Nice to see Lloyd get a few minutes at the end. Sarkic scored a good goal.

For me it was a good game and decent showing from the Brewers, against a side that could easily have been the proverbial banana skin. It was lovely to hear of Mick McCarthy’s gesture of getting Kieron O’Hara back to us early as his save early on was top drawer. I too thought Bucko was solid and had a good game and Jonjo also did well, meaning that we coped well at the back with Brayf and Keiron Wallace also looking strong. Further forward we always carried a goal threat and it was good to see the goals shared around - I fancy us to bring something back from London Rd on Saturday too.

How the lino missed that foul one foot from his face on the popside line, words fail me. The only yellow was to Johnny Brayford, that was for being fouled. Apart from that a good performance after a shaky start, hope Fraser's injury isn't too bad, cramp?? Well we've had some poor referees but that one takes the full packet of biscuits. At least, together the hapless linesman, he stirred the players and supporters. I hope the club reconsider the West Stand closure. It changes the atmosphere and, I believe, the level of support. Why not close off half of the Popside if we want to reduce stewarding costs. Could not agree more, the west stand is our vocal support, surly with little cost, a entrance and catering facility's can be at modest cost bring the pop side available to away supporters, It must be hard for the players, kicking towards a empty home end.,with half the pop side empty and the east stand empty it would look like not many away fans. and for the big games with our 3-000 fans would help fill the ground while keeping fans separated

Broomo you might have your mo=jo=back,,a great performance by the brewers and yes we completed the job 4-1, got worried when they equalised, but super to watch the professionalism of our lads kicking into a empty end. Looking at the gate we would have lost money, but true to form the team turned it around and we came away with £36-000 in prize money.and the fans that went came away with a smile on their faces, was a good night out for £12 sitting down, fergo says give it a rest about our attendances, and he is right, enjoy the peace and quite of the match day experience, yesterday i saw Nigel walking his dog 45 minutes before kick off plenty of room, off he went past the main entrance, just a odd person wandering about, at most clubs he would have been bombarded with questions and autograph hunters, but no just a stroll with his dog. The good news is i am now being positive, cruise in and cruise out at my leisure,so long has the A38 finishes with the road works. Thinking of positives to sustain Championship football no chance. The positives we are a league club [just ] blessed with a brilliant chairman [owner] and a very good manager, and another 2 seasons in league 1 at least, so the near future looks bright. Oh and we move forward with a good result in the F-A cup, a good performance all round. and were to put the 1-476 who witnessed it. Keep thinking Ben

Not quite sure how to describe the match last night. It was kind of surreal at times in the 2nd half with the goals and the refs performance. Anyone else notice Quinn celebrate right in the refs face after the 2nd goal - priceless. The lack of booking for it showed the ref had completely lost the plot. At least it created some atmosphere in what promised at times to be another dull cup tie.
Hopefully we can get the job done without a replay against Oldham and then get a nice juicy 3rd round draw.

Another standout bad refereeing decision was Tempo getting floored by a blatant hand-off to the chest in the corner (where the popside meets the away end) in the first half. Free kick given to Salford! The aforementioned pint of Bass was the highlight of my evening, it was in extraordinarily good condition. That said as a west stander a cheeky half of that posh Czech lager it turns out you popsiders are provided with was a nice touch too!
