Got told off for sitting on the windowsill drinking an overpriced pint of Carling in west stand bar last game!! I’m a big SSC fan it absolutely defines what good is all about, can only apologise for our lads launching beer mats at each other last Saturday home game! Think we nipped it in the bud before it caused a scene! Cheers, you are always welcome. My point is the West stand is closed. Ah... the only time I usually go popside is Earwig making available a £10 charity contribution ticket! 😂 I’ll be there Tuesday though, really looking forward to it tbh, been a weird season.

Sorry just to correct myself, Dryneck (top man!) sorted me out with a popside ticket when we smashed Derby 1-0 c/o Jackson Irvine, top man! Club were playing silly buggers with my buying history / home address at the time.

A blast from the past, well back to the good old days on tues we will be the underdogs having to play with 3 major players on international duty. Ticket prices are cheap so hopefully a good turnout backing the lads available to try to win a difficult fixture with our Burton crocks. A night where we are the underdogs on the pitch, but around the ground Burton fans can show their support in numbers, hoping they can make the difference. £35 pound for a match ticket, a banquet meal, coffee n biscuits, at half time, programme ,car parking whats not to like, £12 for a seat, and for the terrace warriors £10. and the Pirelli Stadium all lit up, waiting and hoping we can beat the odds, Were else can a brewer want to be.

You are right ian any where except the Pirelli, the only time this Stadium is fit for purpose, far to big for the area,6-900 Ben must have dreamed the area could maintain league football and the success of action on the field, International players available to the club, and the object trying to get to the play offs, with such a small ground. Looking forward to players going through the pain barrier,to bring much needed finances into the club, Looking into the Amott stand being empty ,and the players kicking into a empty stand where our fans should be, Moaning about ticket prices free gifts, lack of catering,is bull s--- excuse for a area that does not deserve the effort put in by a very well run club. It seems so unfair that our rivals can waste millions,be in court over many issues, sell the ground, and bring in very high profile players, while losing money hand over fist, And like all the proper football clubs, still bring in 25-000 fans on a bad day, Poor old Burton would think just 4-000 would give them a chance to be with them in the Championship, fat chance, must be a lot to do in Burton , and it is not football Tues 19th looking forward to joining the die hard supporters, and look forward to losing the toss, just doesn't matter, certainly haven't had a rush of home games. Result odds on a loss. weak team, no fans as a extra man, good luck lads, i am with you.

I see our small attendances and our small ground as a disadvantage of course, but I also see it as a massive badge of honour for all involved.
I see it as a beacon of hope for other tiny clubs. I see us as being without doubt one of the best run clubs in the league, if not THE best.
How we can continue to keep making a profit is incredible.
I see the size of the club and the position we are in as being a help in many ways. It means of course that it's tougher for Nigel to bring in players on big money but it means the ones who do come, come for the right reasons and if they stay, they stay for the right reasons as well.
Yes it would be lovely to have more fans watching, yes it would be great to be able to sign players from wherever we wanted but it would certainly take away some of the magic and some of the feeling that we are a special club who manage to do things in a special way.
Not only supporting league football but surviving and thriving already for a decade and certainly for at least another three seasons even if suddenly everything went horribly wrong.
That's incredible. As a club we are incredible.
We'll beat Salford tonight. I have no doubt, whatever side we put out. As long as we can field 11 and three subs.
COYB.

Totally agree Broomo. Brilliantly articulated.
I sometimes ponder what it must be like to support someone like Everton or West Ham. They do have the money, they do invest in big name players, they do attract players, they do have the stadium, they do have the fan base, they do play in packed stadiums. All for what? Also rans. Making up the numbers. Trying to be the best of the rest. That can't be that much fun.
To cut off the obvious responses, I know you can't help who you support and you have to take the rough with the smooth.

I succumbed.
I can also confirm the referee kicked off precisely on time.
That was his best decision.
Splendid performance.
Wemberley...

Having witnessed the disappointing loss to Mansfield last week I found myself running a bit late tonight. So I decided to not bust a gut to get there and stayed at home in the warm with Radio Derby. Wouldn't you know we'd choose tonight to score 4 and take our first FA Cup win since 2013! Well done to the walking wounded.

How the lino missed that foul one foot from his face on the popside line, words fail me. The only yellow was to Johnny Brayford, that was for being fouled. Apart from that a good performance after a shaky start, hope Fraser's injury isn't too bad, cramp??

Good character to overcome a physical Salford team after their equaliser. The referee and linesman were poor, but it’s didn’t stop Burton’s quality topping Salford’s strong arm tactics. Very rare to see Burton players wound up like that.

It seemed to me that Fraser had injured his hip... More than cramp I think... (but we shall have to wait and see)
To be fair to the lino..... I've noticed over the years they often miss things that happen right next to them.... They can see the ball over the line when it's further away but not at their feet... They're not looking down... They can't see fouls under their noses what's going on is often obscured by the players bodies.... I realise it may sound crazy the closer to them the less they can see... But I think there's something in it.... Something to do with field of vision is it? Thought the decision to book Brayf was a bit ott... If the lino had a better grip of his flag..... He didn't throw the ball that hard and I don't think he directed it at anyone... He was a little annoyed at the time tho... I suppose....

At least, together the hapless linesman, he stirred the players and supporters. I hope the club reconsider the West Stand closure. It changes the atmosphere and, I believe, the level of support. Why not close off half of the Popside if we want to reduce stewarding costs.

I personally don't like the West stand closed down (btw I don't stand there) but it makes sense coupled with stewarding there's also less staff required for turnstiles, bars, and hot food points. They don't have to spend time cleaning up those areas either, it's all money saving, money we haven't got to spend in the first place, well very little.👍

A good performance. Good result. Good goals. 36k in the coffers I think. Ref poor. We weren’t as good as we can be but it was good enough to beat them and in the end quite comfortable.
Glad we got the fixture out of the way with 5 games coming up in a fortnight and difficult ones too. Looked to me like one or two were playing through injuries last night and equally one or two could probably do with a rest unfortunately we lost Fraser and it didn’t look good. The squad is at its limit.
I have to say Temps is playing well and looking fit; on current form one of the first names on the team sheet for me. His goal was a gem.
As a footnote. What has happened to the FA Cup? 17 years ago as a little Unibond club we got to the first round of the FA Cup and brought Oldham Athletic back to a dilapidated old Eton Park for a Tuesday night replay. 3400 packed in the ground that night. Last night, established EFL club, new stadium, 2 sides of the ground closed, same scenario, attracted 1475.
