Very likely to happen, it has due to international call-ups.

Ha... No home league game until 7 December then. Cool...
Us and Ipswich have had 6 home games this season.
I imagine when it gets to 7 December we'll be 3-5 games behind some teams for home games!

Oct 26th to Dec 7th with no home game again. That has to have an effect on attendances.
Would you go ahead without Broomhead and O’Hara ? It must be tempting.

Realistically our lineup against Southend could have been: New keeper (forgot his name!) Brayford Nartey JJ Wallace Quinn Edwards Fraser Sarkic Sbarra Akins Appreciate we would be light on options off the bench but would back that first team to win the match

Could we be missing Boyce too, NI have two matches 16th/19th?

Right decision in my opinion as there's still plenty of time left later in the season to play them when we will have everybody available. Also they will have to travel up for a midweek game which might give us a slight advantage although it didn't last season!
With no home league game now until December we should all make the effort to go to the Mansfield game in the Leasing.com trophy where by my calculations and a quick study of the rules we will qualify as long as we don't suffer a defeat in 90 minutes. In other words we could draw the game and still lose on penalties and qualify by virtue of goals scored. Yes, you are all correct I have too much time on my hands! Crewe have beaten Everton on penalties after a 2-2 draw by the way.
Anyway, it's a first team game and I think we will go fairly strong so it's a chance to see the lads for just a tenner. You never know if we sell enough tickets we might open the Don Amott stand and then everybody who regularly stands there can go as well!

The game will be played some time in January or February. By then we may have to deal with suspensions, injuries, fixture congestion and a better Southend team after a transfer window. They are woeful at the moment. I really don't see why we wouldn't have played it next week.

We do have people at the club, who are better equipped to make these decisions, but it makes it hard having free weeks, Just have to have run with clubs in the Championship. makes it expensive when 3 games in a week, i suppose we just have to budget after all we still have 23 home games a season. To take a result for granted is dangerous. We will assume all teams could be stronger in Jan including Burton Albion. Just seems the stature of this club having current international gets some getting used to

They are woeful at the moment. I really don't see why we wouldn't have played it next week. Maybe we'll be a slightly different side after the window as well. If we are suffering from injuries and suspensions, won't they be? Maybe we'll have a striker who can put the ball in the back of the net consistently. Either Liam signs a new contract soon or we've GOT to be looking to let him go and get some (any amount) of cash for him in the January window. I can't think for one minute we'll let him leave on a free in the summer. It's not the way we do things. Does Scot Fraser's deal expire in the summer as well? He's another we've got to get tied down or sell. Looks horrible when I write that and I've got my fingers crossed any out of contract player agrees at least a one year extension. But..... We've got Nartey out with a hamstring, on top of the 3 lads on International duty. We've only really got a squad of 19 when everyone is fit. It's not ideal that we have such a backlog of fixtures but I can see why we've decided to take advantage of the international call ups.

Yes, i'm sure Fraser is out of contract at the end of this season so he is somebody who i'm sure will attract interest from elsewhere and whether he would actually sign another contract now is up for debate. Seems like a decent bloke and he certainly enjoys it with us but no doubt he will have an agent in his ear telling how much he could earn elsewhere. As you say fingers crossed we can get a few tied down to contracts past the end of this season. Progress in the FA Cup and Leasing.com will certainly give us some funds which could make a difference.

It only needs a cup run and a tough winter and we'll soon be playing catch up.
Somebody in a previous thread talked about the potential for hating football.Broomo or Sinfin? International breaks really -iss me off. Invariably they are friendlies against some unknown island e.g. San Marino. Invariably your or our player certainly is not involved. Nobody cares about the result. It's just football to fill the Sky Sports channels.

Careful some people have national pride and these games are important, and a international cap is a badge of honour to players. Championship clubs and Premier League are use to it. Who ever thought Burton Albion would have 3 international call ups, I must agree it disrupts the season, and turns you against them, and players could come back with long term injures, It is what it is.and the Jan transfer window is getting closer. We are not a Sunderland=Ipswich=Portsmouth, staying in league 1 priority, top ten finish a good season

It's times like this when you think long and hard about investing in a season ticket. It certainly put me off buying one until I retired. What with the rearrange fixtures or now international call-ups some of those matches I couldn't make if changed to a midweek fixture. It's off putting if you want to invest in a ST but work can get in the way.
