Time to renew acquaintance with Big Dave.....beat Doncaster and we match them on points but it'd have to be a big win to overtake them - their gd is currently 8, ours 3. Last league game they put 7 past Southend, previous week a good 2 v 0 win over the Gas...but they lost 2 v 1 to Man Utd u21s in the Leasing.com Trophy on Tuesday....(not sure what kind of team they put out for it tho') .....a draw wouldn't be a bad result...

Keepmoat Stadium capacity 15-231 , average attendance 8-598.. lovely ground a 0=0 took us to the Championship, promoted to league 1 in 2016/17 player watch Reese James==Kazalan Sterling=== reached the play offs last season . A small club by Championship standards like Burton longest spell there 2 seasons. Manager Darren Moore expecting to be challenging for top 6, Both clubs are top 12 league 1 clubs ,and a draw away is possible. going for the draw

Not at all optimistic about this one. I would be happy with a point.

I won’t forget last year - we were incredible for the first half hour and Lucas Akins was unplayable down the left. We led 1-0 but Doncaster changed things and clawed their way back into the game. Maybe again we didn’t properly capitalise on some great football.

I don't overly worry about us against anybody in this league as if we play well and take a few of our many chances then we can get a result. Of course that doesn't happen every week as we all know and that's why we are in the league.
Hopefully the youngsters of Nartey, Broadhead and Hutchinson are all fit as they are getting better and better by the game and are going to be key for us this season. Can't make tomorrow but safe trip to all those who are going and cheer the lads on to three points!
COYB!!!!

Doncaster Rovers away 8 May 2016. The most ill I have ever felt during a game of football through nerves.
Bradford City away 2 May 2013 (play off semi-final, first leg). The most ill I have ever felt just prior to kick off through nerves.

But the relief was immense....
Excuse the industrial language near the end, it wasn't me.

Bradford City home in 2013, second leg, with us in front from the first leg.... I thought they might turn us over and they bloody did. Things are a bit different now though.

At Preston I was chilled, then it was on, then it wasn't. That was one of my worst experiences. I thought we had it.

At the game or not, it was the fact that what happened elsewhere affected it that made it worse. Looking back now as well, the club that stayed up were cheating.... not that it was the fault of the players who took advantage of a wet Forest at the time

The FA Cup final replay in the last minute of extra time. Gutted...

As Burton fans we have been lucky enough not to have many of those empty feelings in the last 25 years. A pity a few more don't understand that

Heard about Doncaster winning 7-1 and thought, uh oh.
It was against bottom of the league (excl. Points deductions...) and they had 9 men. I think it'll be a bit closer vs us 😁

The player(s) we'll have to look out for, Ben Whiteman, a tall central midfielder who doesn't look the most mobile but everything goes through him and he's got a brilliant range of passing, including a real eye for a killer through ball. John Taylor on the right but happy to cut inside and play through the middle as well, tiny, runs all day and puts in a very decent cross.
They get a lot of players forward quickly and Kieran Sadlier is a threat arriving into the box late. He's another big midfielder who is decent in the air as well.
They've got a couple of massive centre halfs who throw themselves at anything but who can be clumsy. They look vulnerable down their left hand side.
We can't give Whiteman time to dictate the game, hopefully Edwards busy style and Quinn's reading of the game will cut his influence.
Nigel will know all about Kwame Thomas, if he gets off the bench.
I fancy us but I've been wrong a lot this season.

Similar to last season for me - very much on top and then conceded a soft equaliser.
